Job SummarySupports the overall programmatic and operational priorities of the Office of Student Access & Success (SAS) and its programs. Remains informed of the latest data, trends, and best practices related to college access and student success.

Supports the planning, execution, logistics, and catering of special events, meetings, programs, and workshops, including but not limited to the Children's Holiday Celebration, opening and end-of-year receptions, McNair research conference.

Supports the execution of professional development programming aimed at influencing the academic success and retention of SAS students, including scheduling, material preparation, and tracking student engagement. Works with other university partners to implement/strengthen services and programs aimed at increasing the persistence of students from under-represented and other special populations, including first-generation college students.

Collects data and compiles information needed to support department reporting (university statistics, student participation, program benchmarking).

Supports effective marketing strategies that promote student engagement in SAS program offerings.

Supports the general administrative needs of the department, including reviewing expenditures; initiating requisitions, change orders, and reimbursements; and purchase orders.

Maintains department asset records and inventory for computers, other electronic devices and attractive property which support program and student success.

Serves as a university card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to university credit card policies and procedures. Handles cash and check transactions as needed.

Assist with managing front desk operations to ensure smooth and efficient service by greeting visitors and answering, screening, and routing incoming telephone calls accordingly, as needed.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED and six (6) years of office or related experience coordinating functions of an office or department.

Desired Qualifications

Previous experience of working with students from underrepresented groups and/or first-generation college students.

Experience with event planning and execution.

Knowledge of Canva, Mailchimp, Qualtrics, and other communications, design, and survey tools.

Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends and at locations outside of the University.

Travel to FIU Campus.
