Job SummaryThe Student Access and Success Unit has an opportunity for two Student Program Coordinators to manage program copy edits, assist with minor research projects, conduct data entry, maintain various spreadsheets, assist with program organization, conference material preparation, social media management, and general clerical responsibilities, such as making copies, imaging files for archival purposes (electronic filing), and delivering documents to departments on campus.

Duties include:

Assist in the management of student program applications

Assist in the management of social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram

Assist in the programming of workshops, tutoring, and special events

Initiate program projects regarding but not limited to social media scheduling, PantherConnect, creating student groups through the Student Programming Council, designing newsletters, and the Alumni Podcast

Plan and implement culturally relevant programming

Work with specialized software programs; troubleshooting hardware/software problems (e.g., Student Access and Success, Excel, PivotTables)

Provide support to staff and faculty with the functional operations of the Unit with minimal to no supervision

Perform technical and complex tasks after detailed instruction from the supervisor

Desired Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively and proactively

Knowledge or experience in research or research programs

Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills

Knowledge of PC operations and software

Knowledge of design software (e.g., Canva)

Experience working with first-generation students and diverse populations

Knowledge of social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram

Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships and work well in a team environment

Who May Apply

Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.

Students must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.

Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.

Work ScheduleHours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.

Advertised Salary$16.00/Hour
