Position Summary:

The Director, Institutional Marketing is responsible for managing Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County's brand presence and supporting a meaningful Federation experience for key stakeholders. The Director conceptualizes high-visibility, powerful, and consistent messaging across Federation's print, digital, video, advertising, social media and news media channels. The Director supervises the Institutional Marketing team and collaborates with Federation leaders, staff, and Marketing Department colleagues to develop and execute strategic communications plans and projects. With a passion for storytelling, the Director ensures that messaging, tone and voice of institutional communications showcase Federation's work and impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
• Collaborates with Vice President, Marketing to develop Federation's annual messaging, marketing & communications strategy, including plans for institutional marketing, advertising and digital communications.
• Ensures implementation of Federation's annual Case for Support across diverse and far-reaching marketing and communications channels.
• Creates continuum of targeted communications in support of Federation senior management's stewardship of high-level donors, prospects and community leadership. This includes the development of Stakeholder Reports, Honor Roll, and digital and print newsletters.
• Works with Director, Campaign for the Future to develop marketing experience for multi-year, comprehensive fundraising campaign - including communications to campaign stakeholders, gift announcements, and proposals to donors.
• Leads communications strategy during emergency situations and special projects, including leadership deaths, hurricanes, and crisis relief situations.
• Identifies success metrics with lead staff and evaluate project/campaign effectiveness.
• Supervises growth, training and development of Institutional Marketing team, including Communications Specialist and Project Manager, with support of VP, Marketing.
• Works with Marketing Department to support Federation's digital communications strategy, including providing direction for email blast calendar, online posting, and timely updates to digital landscape.
• Directs Federation public and media relations partners to reinforce Federation brand and impact throughout high-visibility coverage in relevant media outlets, blogs and social applications.
• Strengthens Federation advertising presence through development of ad copy and directing creative that build powerful ads on print, on-air and online media outlets.
• Works with Direct Response team to achieve annual fundraising goals through creation of direct mail letters, telemarketing scripts, text messages, eBlasts, social media and other direct marketing channels.
• Consults with colleagues and stakeholders to establish marketing project plans including target audience, strategy, objectives, scope, details, deliverables and budget.
• Collaborates with Marketing Project Manager to develop project task deadlines and ensure all those accountable meet them.
• Implements individual project plans and timelines; may be asked to serve as project manager, specifically focusing on collaborating with multiple stakeholders and accomplishing set goals.
• Obtains information from print and digital resources as well as Federation professionals (who are internal subject matter experts) and translate it into clear, brief, and messaging that resonates across various audiences and platforms.
• Utilizes communications expertise to implement short, succinct, compelling work product that reflects the familial and informal tone, voice and personality of the organization.
• Supports the development of Federation messaging, as well as content gathering, research and subsequent communications recommendations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Success Factors:
• Bachelor's degree required or better preferred.
• Five (5) or more years' experience in communications role(s) in a dynamic product or service marketing organization or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and skills required.
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills; editing and proofreading a must.
• Strong knowledge of basic office computing, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom and basic database skills required.
• Strong knowledge of AP writing-style required.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Ability to manage PR strategy and content, as well as relationships with media.
• Ability to develop and manage marketing project plans and timelines. Management experience related to media and/or video production a plus.
• Ability to blend technical writing skills with a familial, conversational tone, voice and personality and to adapt writing style to target audience.
• Ability to thrive in a professional, fast-paced, and team-oriented work environment while comfortable working independently as needed.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and operate effectively in a culture of rapid change.
• Ability to infuse Jewish culture, values, traditions and history, particularly relating to Israel, into his/her work.
• Desire to contribute in a meaningful way to a growing and thriving non-profit business.
• Must be able to pass a Level 1 background check.
• Must be able to work off-shift hours including nights and weekends, as needed.

Work Environment:

Position is eligible to work from home occasionally in accordance with Federation policies. When working from home, employee must:
• Follow all Federation policies and procedures,
• Be available to other employees during Federation's normal business hours,
• Not work from a public place (e.g., coffee shop, library, etc.) and/or join a public, unsecure wi-fi network when working with sensitive or confidential information,
• Coordinate with IT department to maintain appropriate computer equipment and connectivity.

Pay Rate:

In addition to benefits, we benchmark our salary ranges for new hires in relation to the role, level, and role location; however, we consider a multitude of factors, to include relevant experience, skills, and education/training, to determine compensation within the identified range.
