We can't predict what the future holds, but we know Texas Instruments will have a part in shaping it.TI’s Law Department is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney for an entry-level Legal Counsel position in our Worldwide Commercial Operations team. This role will place you in a dynamic and evolving environment supporting a cutting-edge and expanding global semiconductor company where you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across TI.You will join an experienced and collaborative legal team in Dallas, Texas that provides guidance to management and business professionals on a broad range of issues. The team you will join is driving innovation in providing legal services through online and artificial intelligence resources to scale as we grow as a company, while also supporting specific customer engagements, negotiations, and adverse matters. The key areas of law that you will advise on and have further opportunity to learn about include complex commercial contracts, online commerce, intellectual property, government contracting, open source software, software licensing, supply chain management, marketing and advertising, crisis communications, and cybersecurity.We are looking for agile learners, who can be a quick study on new issues and topics that you will learn on the job. We expect ownership of assignments and shepherding to completion, with project management experience as a plus. You will be expected to be a trusted advisor, with the ability to quickly spot issues and identify internal stakeholders and appropriate outside counsel to support complex issues, including advising on emerging and evolving business models, such as the use of artificial intelligence and online business models to gain efficiencies in all aspects of legal operations and support.
Minimum requirements:3+ years of experience practicing transactional and/or litigation-related work at a law firm, corporate law department, government agency, or equivalent experience.Must be, or be eligible to become, licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.Preferred qualifications:Strong advocacy, critical thinking, and analytical skills.Ability to creatively solve problems independently and in a team environment.Ability to balance detail orientation and strategic thinking.Ability to manage multiple issues/projects at the same time; project management experience is a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Willingness to tackle new subject matter areas and an eagerness to learn.Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse international team of lawyers and business managers.The ideal candidate will have some experience representing or interacting with technology, automotive, and/or manufacturing companies.Why TI?Engineer your future.
