In addition to a robust E-commerce business and a strong wholesale presence, Rhone currently has 15 retail stores across the U.S., all of which are used for building community through various initiatives such as the brand's signature Mind & Muscle events.About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Rhone Finance team in Stamford CT. As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounts payable process from start to finish including involvement within the inventory receipt process and ensuring accurate costing. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of accounting principles, especially as they relate to inventory and cost accounting.What you’ll do:Support the accounts payable process, including reviewing and verifying invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval, and processing payments in a timely manner.Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.Perform three-way match of inventory between the vendor invoice, warehouse receipt and Purchase Order.Perform day-to-day Accounts Payable functions, including 3-way purchase order (PO) matching of invoices and entering PO invoices.Prepare weekly payment batches.Oversee onboarding of new vendors, including tax document collection and data validation.Ensure accurate costing placed upon the item receipt.Prepare weekly AP status reports for communication with team members.Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances related to inventory and cost of goods sold.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, receiving, and production, to ensure accurate inventory costing and proper accounting treatment for inventory-related transactions.Support external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to inquiries.Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices related to accounts payable and inventory cost accounting, and provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies.Assist with other ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the finance management team.What you’ll bring:Proven experience as Accounts Payable Specialist, preferably in the consumer retail or apparel industry.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, especially related to inventory and cost accounting, and familiarity with GAAP.Proficiency in using accounting software, such as ERP systems (NetSuite a plus) and Excel.Experience using AP automation platforms such as Tipalti or Bill.com.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to adapt to changes in priorities and work well under pressure.What you’ll get:Access to benefits, including medical, dental, vision, & commuter benefits.401K.Employee Assistance Program.Discretionary Time Off Policy.Generous Holiday Schedule and Summer Fridays.Flexible schedule and work-from-home days.Annual incentive plan.Generous employee discount and semi-annual gift card allotments.Job Type:
