Our mission is to create the best insurance experience possible.Excellent opportunity for an Investment Accounting Supervisor to provide technical and administrative management for ICW Group’s Investment Accounting team. This role will design, build, and manage processes to optimize investment operations and provide insight into both capital market activity as well as investment performance. Accordingly, this high-profile role is a key business partner for the Company’s portfolio managers, senior management, and regulators.WHAT YOU WILL DODevelops accounting policies, procedures, and processes for the Company’s $5+ billion investment portfolio.Formulates and implements policies to ensure adherence with relevant GAAP and statutory accounting guidance.Leverages the company’s technology investments to design and implement new workstreams for high profile accounting operations.Oversee the development of reports related to ICW Group’s investment holdings and performance.Identifies, researches, and follows up on opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the investment accounting team’s processes.Oversee the Investment Accounting operations.Oversees the monthly financial close including review of activity in the Company’s investment subledger, review of key reconciliations and journal entries, and preparation of reports for senior management.Ensures accurate recording and reporting of key investment activity including purchases, sales, interest accruals, amortization/accretion, and capital transactions.Provides direction to members of the Investment Accounting team to ensure the efficient execution of trading activity and cash management.Executes performance management for direct reports including providing coaching/feedback, goal setting, and aiding in development planning.Acts as a resource for team members to answer questions and solve complex problems.Participates in projects and the implementation of new systems, as necessary.Identifies technological transformational opportunities, recommends solutions, and follows through to resolution.Implements policies and procedures to maintain project workflow standards.Interfaces with department managers, vendors, and IT project managers.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises two or more employees within the Accounting team and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance and salary reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to further their skills and knowledge; creating and monitoring development plans; setting performance expectations/goals; forecasting staffing needs and planning for peak times and absences; enforcing department policies and procedures.WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred with a major or emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum 5-7 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices as well as thorough knowledge of computer applications related to accounting and financial management systems.Broad, in-depth understanding of Accounting principles, concepts, operations, and practices of the business unit. Highly developed written, oral and presentation skills, and ability to effectively interact with management, employees, regulators, and external auditors.Demonstrated leadership competencies and ability to plan, coordinate, and supervise employees, and all aspects of the accounting systems.Advanced skills in Microsoft suite applications. Knowledge of investment accounting preferred.Familiarity of insurance industry desirable.COMPENSATION

The salary range listed for this position, $74,932.01 to $126,367.76, is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education. In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
