6-7 MonthsJob Overview:The Interim Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the accounting functions within our manufacturing company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, managing the accounting team, and coordinating with various departments to support the company's financial goals, including sales and use tax compliance.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting and Analysis:Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.

Accounts Management:Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.Manage cash flow and perform bank reconciliations.Prepare and review related party invoices and intercompany reconciliations.

Sales and Use Tax Compliance:Ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and remittance of sales and use tax.Verify and review sales tax on invoices to ensure proper tax application.Assist with sales and use tax audits and resolve any related issues.

Compliance and Control:Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.Assist with tax-related inquiries, including annual filing and compliance questions.Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and implement audit recommendations.

Team Management:Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.Assist with managing departmental tasks and addressing inquiries from the accounting team.

Process Improvement:Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Work closely with the Controller to track departmental deliverables, open items, and ongoing projects.

Special Projects:Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.Gather and coordinate information for income tax returns and other financial documentation.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.Proven experience in financial reporting, accounts management, sales and use tax compliance, and regulatory adherence.Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
