Project Scientist - Hydrogeologic Analyst and Modeler

Location:

1601 5th Avenue, Suite 800, Seattle, WA, 98101

Duties:

Interpret and analyze various forms of geologic and hydrogeologic data to build conceptual models of groundwater flow systems. Design and conduct scientific hydrogeological investigations to ensure that accurate and appropriate information is available for use in water resource management decisions. Conduct research and communicate information to promote the conservation and preservation of water resources. Study and document quantities, distribution, disposition, and development of underground and surface waters. Study and analyze the physical aspects of the earth in terms of hydrological components, including atmosphere, hydrosphere, and interior structure. Develop technical documentation and presentations. Work independently and with senior staff, exercising professional judgment to develop and recommend solutions that meet client expectations and goals. Manage and conduct aquifer tests of production wells to evaluate aquifer properties and long-term yield. Apply technical, quantitative, and hydrogeologic knowledge of groundwater occurrence and pumping impact analysis, well hydraulics, groundwater/surface water interaction, recharge and infiltration investigations, and seawater intrusion. Develop groundwater flow models to represent hydrogeologic systems, perform hydrologic impact analysis and simulate contaminant fate and transport. Develop digital code to manage data and improve the efficiency of hydrogeologic analysis and groundwater flow modeling. Communicate analytical results to clients. Manage junior-level staff.
