Summary

The Senior Director, Manufacturing and Capital Procurement, is responsible for the transformation of manufacturing and capital project indirect procurement activities across GAF. This leader will build and lead a team of capable procurement professionals who will oversee GAF’s supply of indirect materials and services focused on Operations, to meet the growing and evolving business needs of the company. The Senior Director is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for indirect procurement, including the introduction of category management, and will possess detailed knowledge and understanding of these materials/services and their impact on GAF business. The Senior Director will provide significant guidance on departmental goals and to the broader GAF and cross functional business objectives. The candidate will hire, oversee, develop, and manage their team to achieve these goals. The Senior Director will drive their procurement team to develop sourcing plans and negotiation strategies that lead to contracts which protect GAF, ensure competitive pricing, and result in the highest overall value for GAF while operating within GAF policies and procedures.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

25-30% Lead Organizational Design efforts to understand current state, gather stakeholder feedback, develop and align on a future state vision and build the right capabilities with enabling structure to support it. Lead the transformational change management efforts to execute the org design. Ensure clear communications with internal customers and suppliers. Deliver timely cost information and trends to other internal functional groups. Be a catalyst for creativity and innovation to internal GAF partners.

20 -25% Function in an advisory role by managing relationships with suppliers and internal organizational groups to meet mutual objectives. Lead team of procurement professionals to (1) develop and implement category strategies, rationalize the supplier base and manage supplier relationships; (2) predict market changes; (3) develop and recommend alternative sourcing options to mitigate risk, lower costs, and expand revenue opportunities; and (4) evaluate suppliers based on quality, customer service, total cost, and reliability.

15-20% Set departmental goals and oversee procurement staff to drive alignment with the goals. Establish a continual process for identifying and developing organizational talent, both in the Home Office and Plant Teams; to ensure sustainability of culture, growth, and continuous improvement.

10-15% Oversee development and implementation sourcing strategies aligned with GAF business objectives.

5-10% Drive negotiations with suppliers and coordination with internal customers (e.g., Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, and other Operating Companies under the Standard Industries umbrella) for execution of agreements and implementation of supply and services.

5-10% Ensure alignment with business strategies and purchasing policies.

5-10% Perform other duties as assigned.

Under This Roof, We Require:

Bachelor’s Degree in the field of supply chain, business, science or engineering

Minimum of 15+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing

Experience in use of ERP system (SAP or equivalent) and AMMS system (Maximo)
