biBERK is seeking an experienced worker's compensation claims adjuster. The position is fully remote from anywhere in the continental US, but preferably the state of CA.
Job Responsibilities
Determine compensability and/or coverage issues for loss time workers' compensation claimsEffectively manage a caseload of loss time claims from numerous jurisdictionsNegotiate and direct settlements under management's reviewGather medical and factual evidence to determine compensabilityDirect outside investigation and handle litigation files within given authorityCoordinate and maintain contact with claimants and/or their attorneys, outside investigators, and rehabilitation personnel as well as routine contact with insureds, account liaisons and medical providersPreferred Knowledge
A minimum of three years' experience requiredExperience handling claims in CABachelor's degree requiredSIP certification preferredBilingual candidates (Spanish) preferredCarrier experience preferredExperience in handling lost time or litigated claimsFamiliarity with medical terminologyDemonstration of strong organizational, problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills neededAbout Us

In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith starting compensation is being provided. The starting compensation for this position is $75,000 to 87,000 per year. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
