Description:One of the largest grocery chains is looking to launch a 0-1 employee portal enterprise tool to improve the lives of associates that are working in the stores. The platform will be functional but also engaging & informative. Features could include things like general employee tools, onboarding tasks, notifications, communities, dashboards, scheduling, etc.They are actively seeking a Lead Product Designer who will help define the underlying structure/flow of the platform, product strategy, and wireframes; working through to execution and design.
Responsibilities:
Define the underlying structure and flow of the platform.Develop product strategy and wireframes.Work through to execution and design.Touch all points of the design flow for the app being built from scratch.
Qualifications:Solid understanding of user-centered design methods and usability principles.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent facilitation skills and ability to effectively lead whiteboard design sessions.Effective negotiator, enthusiastic team player, and able to resolve conflicts.Attentive to details while successfully juggling multiple assignments and competing priorities.Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.Solid understanding of the technical implications of your designs. Knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus.Knowledge of user research methods, including lab-based usability studies, field studies, and usability inspections (heuristic evaluations or cognitive walkthroughs).A hearty thirst and enthusiasm for UX knowledge, trends, sharing, and banter.

It's critical that this Designer is equally strong with executing design and thinking strategically about the direction of the work and is not afraid of or easily discouraged by ambiguity and fast timelines.
Location:
Candidates must be located near either Pleasanton, CA, Plano, TX, or Boise, ID. This role is hybrid (onsite for large meetings, otherwise remote).This is for a 6-month contract role. Full-time. Must be eligible to work on a W-2.
