We have an exciting opportunity within our US Medical Affairs (USMA) Liver team for a Director, Medical Affairs Strategy for Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC). This role is based in Foster City, CA.Job Responsibilities:Regular communication with the Gilead Medical Scientist Liaison (MSL) team to remain current on issues in the field (gather insights) and to provide medical education, support, and direction.Support the execution of advisory boards and support the collection of feedback to guide and propose updates to the USMA Strategic plans in PBC.Provide medical and scientific input on Independent Medical Education, Grants, Investigator-Sponsored Research, and Collaborative Research.Serve as an educational resource to both medical and commercial disease state and product training.Attend appropriate conferences and strategically coordinate medical affairs activities.Responsible for the development and execution of PBC related scientific projects.Monitor and understand the changing PBC landscape.Work with MSL field directors to ensure the POA is executed as envisioned.Ensure MSL teams have necessary tools to execute the local POA as envisioned.As product expert, serves as a key contributor and knowledge expert for PBC for multiple internal and external stakeholders.Work with the Global MA PBC field teams to review, update, and provide insight into Medical Affairs slide decks and local and global PBC response documents.Leads US-focused medical training documents as needed to support field Medical Scientists.Supports the Senior Director in developing and executing the US Plan of Action and ensure alignment of team activities and cross-functional projects.Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Public and Government Affairs, to lead cross-functional projects as needed.Provide recommendations for resource allocation to adjust accordingly.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience OR master’s degree and 10 years’ experience OR PhD and 8 years’ experience.MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD, or other advanced health care degree with 8+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.Relevant clinical experience in PBC, viral hepatitis, or rare diseases is required.Experienced with patient-centric care desired.Ability to think strategically and translate that strategy into an actionable work plan.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills to support project planning across multiple activities.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Must be fully aware and compliant with regulatory, compliance and legal requirements for clinical trials and other Medical Affairs activities.Display of Gilead Core Values:Integrity (Doing What’s Right)Teamwork (Working Together)Excellence (Being Your Best)Accountability (Taking Personal Responsibility)Inclusion (Encouraging Diversity)The salary range for this position is: $237,660.00 - $307,560.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
