HDR has an excellent opportunity in our Florida-Puerto Rico, Alabama-Mississippi Area for a professional to lead the development and growth of our Area’s Transit Market Sector (Transit MS). The Area Transit Market Sector Leader (Transit MSL) is a professional that is well versed in all aspects of the transportation and transit markets, including business development, technical delivery, and project execution. This role includes driving and implementing our strategy and influencing the growth and development of our transportation business, with an emphasis on the Transit Market Sector.
As the Transit MSL, you will report to the Area TBG Manager and team with our Area TBG Business Development Leads, Transit MS Client Managers, Project Managers, Business Class Leads, and Technical staff.
Primary Responsibilities
The specific responsibilities of this position are divided into Business Development, Staff Development, and Project Management.
Business Development Responsibilities Include:
Promote the marketing and delivery of all HDR services to clients within the Area.
Provide leadership to Transit Client Managers.
Support selected Area pursuits through client relationship development.
Monitor marketing capabilities and provide Transit MS support.
Develop relationships with industry counterparts.
Lead and/or assist with the identification and recruitment of prospective Transit market sector employees.
Participate in industry associations.
Project Management Responsibilities Include:
Serve as Principal in Charge, Project Director, or Project Manager.
Coordinate and collaborate about MS services with Business Class Leaders.
Monitor market sector financial performance indicators.
Work with the Area Business Group Manager on market sector initiatives.
Staff Development Responsibilities Include:
Support local staff with mentorship, training, and quality reviews.
Support project staffing and resourcing decisions.
Manage and supervise Transit MS staff, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 15 years’ experience in transportation planning and/or engineering.
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering, planning, or a related field.
Professional Engineer licensed in Florida and/or an AICP Certification is preferred.
Experience working with Transit Clients in FL/AL/MS/PR.
Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent written and effective communication skills.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
If an engineer, maintain engineering registration.
Demonstrated commitment to HDR values.
