The Vice President of Sourcing & Procurement will lead the Technology Category Strategy team, and is responsible for partnering with UHG business and Technology teams to set global technology supplier strategy and manage over $4B in annual technology spend. Category focus includes Technology on-prem and cloud infrastructure (incl. Network and Storage), enterprise, business and application software, telecom and Technology Labor Services. This leader will be accountable for guiding team of up to 7 direct reports and 45 indirect team members. The Technology Category Strategy team is focused on the development and execution of long-term Technology supplier strategies with a specific focus on the most complex, high-value supplier relationships while also providing indirect guidance to Procurement Category and Contract Enablement team responsible for negotiating and contracting supplier agreements of higher volume and with lower financial values.
Primary Responsibilities

Ability to earn and retain a “seat at the table” with key business stakeholders by adding value through strategic guidance and recommendations Partners effectively with peers toward achieving linked outcomes Embrace the “team-of-teams” concept toward collaboration in a matrixed organization Be motivated by and promote continual improvement, have a high tolerance for ambiguity and contribute toward team outcomes through seeking out solutions to complex problems Manage team performance goals through objective measures

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 15+ years progressive experience in building and managing global supply management / procurement or management consulting with focus on procurement operations, strategic sourcing and cost reduction initiatives Background partnering with Tech business stakeholders to define long term category and supplier strategies, leveraging standardized business processes, data & analytics with a focus on continuous improvement Expertise in supplier negotiations, with strong background in pricing strategy, “should-cost” modeling, legal terms, supplier risk management, and service-level requirements, preferably with strong understanding and expertise across Tech hardware, software, telecom, services, and subscription-based Technology products and services Experience integrating suppliers and team members introduce through M&A activity Solid executive presence with both written and verbal communication abilities across all audiences Solid track record of stakeholder management and influencing outcomes Ability to lead global team with team members and stakeholders in North America, LATAM, APAC, and Europe and drive outcomes across borders/cultures Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or other Master’s degree
