Job Summary:The AVP, Consumer Loans is responsible for overseeing and leading the Consumer Loans team, with a focus on developing, implementing and maintaining SESLOC lending policies and procedures, system applications and consumer loan programs; team development, and developing/maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an exceptional lending experience for our members; and establishing and meeting consumer lending sales goals. Plans, guides, and leads initiatives/projects to achieve SESLOC's strategic goals while effectively communicating and motivating the department and Credit Union team members to deliver best in class results. Act as a registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) responsible for interviewing applicants and originating Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) loans. Provide mortgage related information to members which may include rates, terms and explanation of lending processes.
Key Qualifications:A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school and five to eight years' consumer loan management or equivalent combination of education and experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. At least five years of loan underwriting and management experience. Credit Union or financial institution experience preferred. Registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System & Registry as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO); maintain annual registration requirements.
Demonstrated and strong knowledge of loan underwriting, processing and servicing principles.Possess a strong knowledge base of Regulations related to Consumer Loan underwriting, processing and servicing.Strong knowledge base and ability to analyze and evaluate loan requests and make credit decisions.
