This team manages all front-end development for the consumer-facing apps that house Disney’s portfolio of brands. The list of platforms this team manages includes: iOS & Android; Smart TVs like Samsung, LG, Chromecast, Roku, & Amazon; game consoles like Xbox and PlayStation; and desktop & mobile web browsers.Job Summary:The News, Entertainment, and Studios Mobile and Living Room Devices team responsible for building and supporting ABC News, Marvel Unlimited, and other applications is seeking a Lead iOS Software Engineer to join their platform team. This is a great opportunity to work on a platform that powers and enables ABC News, a leading news product, on its mission to inform and inspire as well as other Disney brands. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, innovative features and enhancements to our user.Responsibilities:Oversee development of feature-rich native iOS, tvOS and visionOS applications for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro.Identify areas for growth within the team processes and develop new systems for collaboration.Write clear, well-tested, performant code.Work with other developers to create sustainable, well-architected solutions that are built to last.Manage production issues and solve novel problems.Guide an agile team participating in the full lifecycle of application development, including being the key point of contact for entire features.Mentor associate, mid-level, and senior team members and support peers through code review and pair programming.Create opportunities to learn and teach others.
Basic Qualifications:Minimum 7+ years of related work experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Expert knowledge of Swift, Apple Frameworks, and the Xcode ecosystemExperience leading a team, including delegating responsibility and balancing competing priorities.Experience integrating with backend systems, web services, and third-party software.Hold high standards of quality for both the codebases you contribute to and the applications you build.A growth mindset towards learning, experience mentoring others, and a desire to give and receive feedback.Experience composing and presenting thoughtful and implementable solutions to a variety of stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
