Surface 678, PA is an award-winning 30-person firm located in the downtown of Durham, North Carolina. Our work includes the design of urban public spaces, parks, museums, botanical gardens, university and corporate campuses and healthcare facilities throughout the Southeastern United States and beyond. In those areas of practice, we work collaboratively with architects; civil, structural, electrical, plumbing engineers; cultural and historical consultants; arborists, environmental scientists, artists and many other disciplines needed to create meaningful and thoughtful work.
We are looking for a marketing coordinator / graphic designer that will be a broad-based role within our studio. Core responsibilities of this position will include the following:
Coordinating the firm’s external marketing efforts
Organizing related project information, strategizing, editing and coordinating information needs for RFQ/RFP responses and marketing related materials.
Writing, editing, and coordinating information for awards, press releases, publications and related marketing requests.
Managing and updating the firm’s website content and image database
Coordinating the firm’s social media presence
Tracking and assisting analysis of pursuit and PR efforts
Required Skills/ Experience:
The ideal candidate will have one to three years of communications/ writing experience. Surface 678 is seeking a committed, self-motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented individual that is excited to work in a creative and collaborative studio environment.
Minimum of 1-3 years of relative experience, A/E/C industry experience a plus
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Word, Powerpoint, Excel
Strong spirit of teamwork and outstanding, collaborative, interpersonal skills
Strong graphic design skills
Strong technical writing and editing skills
Data organization skills; CRM experience a plus
Ability to manage one’s own deadlines and schedule
Familiarity with social media as it pertains to business communications
Highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, must possess a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
Education Requirements:
Bachelor (BA or BS) in Marketing or Graphic Design, Journalism, Business or similar degree
