Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Assisting and mentoring estimating staff in preparing accurate estimates.

Assisting senior staff in efficient and accurate bid reviews.

Assist departments in evaluating bid opportunities.

Soliciting for effective ways to boost the accuracy of estimates.

Teach inexperienced estimators the bidding process.

Understand crew size, productions, equipment, and material.

Prepare CPM schedules at the time of estimate.

Evaluate rental equipment rates if needed, wet vs. dry equipment rates.

Account for per diem, rooms, etc.

Manage escalators in bids related to material, labor, and fuel.

Thorough understanding of the Special Provisions and what questions to ask during the bidding timeline.

Review plans and specifications to help identify areas of risk and opportunity for the estimating team.

Prepare quantity takeoff and estimate guidelines to aid in accurate estimates. Coordinate with the take-off Engineer.

Maintain HCSS master estimates to ensure labor rates, equipment rates, and overhead rates are current and accurate.

Identify and evaluate all technical issues related to projects. “How can we build it better?”

Ensure estimating productivity and accuracy goals are met.

Actively participate in pre-bid meetings and site tours.

Carry out other duties as assigned or required by management.

Requirements:

Highly motivated with an overwhelming desire to learn and advance your career as an employee-owner.

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or 15 years equivalent construction experience.

Should possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products.

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable past driving-related history.

This is a safety-sensitive position; you will need to pass a pre-employment and subsequent random drug screenings.

Pay:

$150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
