DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to lead our team of claims experts in managing claims across various lines of business, including Excess & Surplus (E&S), General Liability, Property, and Inland Marine. Your leadership will be instrumental in providing strategic direction and ensuring the effective execution of all associated processes and functions.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree required; JD preferred.A minimum of 10 years of experience leading a team of claims adjusters, with expertise in general liability.Typical positions supervised include Claim Manager, Claim Adjuster, and Paralegal.Must hold a valid adjuster's license.Key ResponsibilitiesClaims Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of all claims-related matters, focusing on analysis, reserve development, and execution of strategies that optimize loss cost management and enhance customer satisfaction.Collaboration: Work closely with the leadership team to analyze loss trends, coverage, and exposure for both existing and new business opportunities.Performance Oversight: Guide internal claims personnel to ensure high standards of productivity and efficiency while aligning with organizational goals.Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with all local, federal, and state regulations related to claims, actively minimizing risks and exposures to the organization.Stakeholder Engagement: Participate regularly in underwriting, actuarial, and meetings with clients or brokers to foster strong relationships.Vendor Management: Provide oversight and accountability for the company's use of key vendors, including outside counsel and third-party administrators.Issue Resolution: Manage the resolution of claim issues and complaints raised by both internal and external business partners.Authority Provision: Grant reserve and settlement authority to claims staff based on their requests and recommendations.Talent Development: Cultivate and develop organizational talent to strengthen the team's capabilities.Skills & Competencies RequiredProven experience in leading a commercial claims organization, particularly in general liability and professional lines.Strong business and financial acumen, along with excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills.High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including senior executives.Ability to foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment, mentoring and motivating team members to achieve accountability.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in using metrics and data to drive performance, ensuring continuous improvement and increased efficiency.Broad knowledge of claims across multiple specialty lines, with preferred experience in excess/umbrella, D&O/E&O claims, general liability, and reinsurance.Additional InformationWe offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, life, and vision insurance, company-paid short and long-term disability, a 401(k) plan, tuition assistance, and much more.Employment Type: Full-Time
