Boeing Research & Technology is Boeing's global research and development team creating and implementing innovative technologies that make the impossible possible and enabling the future of aerospace.What is Graduate Researcher Program?The GRP (Graduate Researcher Program) is a unique 10-12 week internship program designed specifically for students pursuing their PhD. GRP is a hybrid experience of real-world industry work experience combined with development programming that exposes students to Boeing, its products and services and its people.How GRP Works:Upon application and selection, successful applicants are matched with an intern experience and team related to their area of expertise. The program aims to provide interns with a valuable opportunity to gain deeper experience at Boeing and with their assigned team, while also utilizing academic skills and expertise to help solve real-world industry challenges and opportunities.In addition to industry work exposure, GRP students will attend GRP programming to extend their experience and knowledge at Boeing. GRP programming includes: mentorship in your field of study, weekly Featured Speaker Talks, a week-long in-person GRP Summit, participation in an Innovation Challenge, and other opportunities to interact and build a professional network with other GRP students, Boeing team members, and leadership.Please note: The work you do at Boeing can be related to your area of study, but will not contribute to the work in your PhD thesis.Who we are looking for:We are seeking students who will have completed their first year of study in their PhD program by July 2025 and are passionate about the aerospace industry and Boeing. GRP students excel at quickly adapting to their roles, analyzing complex problems, and developing innovative solutions. They thrive in collaborative team environments and possess excellent communication skills.Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) is looking for a highly capable Graduate Research Engineer to join our Structures Technology team. The position is focused on ceramic matrix composite (CMC) design and analysis with emphasis on combined thermo/structural response, structural textile design, constitutive modeling at the damage and damage progression level, and joining components into structures comprised of dissimilar materials.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.These positions require the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications for all positions (Required Skill/Experience):

The ability to work a minimum of 10 weeks (12 weeks preferred) during the summer of 2025.Completed the first year of your PhD studies by July 2025.Pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Material Science or Related field.Experience with engineering and design software such as MatLab, Finite Element Analysis (Abaqus, LS-Dyna, etc.), COMSOL, CAD/3D packages (NX, CATIA, etc.).Experience in Thermo/Structural FEA modeling & simulation.Preferred Qualifications:Structural textile design and modeling for composites.Damage and damage progression modeling in ceramic and/or polymer composites.Environmental degradation and impact to structural performance modeling & simulation.Problems of interest include Ceramic matrix composite (CMC) design and analysis for hypersonic and extreme environment applications.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Drug Free Workplace:
