Creighton University, a Jesuit, Catholic university is seeking to hire a Director for the Office of Academic Success. This is a full-time, exempt position in Omaha, NE.

The Office of Academic Success is a critical student-centered resource within Creighton's Division of Student Success and physically housed within The Success Center. Responsible for oversight and leadership supervising 3 full-time staff, two graduate assistants, and several dozen student tutors (employees). Works in collaboration and coordination with the various academic success consultants in the graduate and professional schools and colleges and is the convener of the University's Academic Success Network (Roundtable). Is also responsible for the oversight of the University's academic coaching, academic intervention, success monitoring and initiatives, tutoring, supplemental instruction functions and for the staffing and programming within the Success Hubs in the first-year residence halls.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and provide oversight for the Office of Academic Success (tutoring, academic coaching, academic probation monitoring, and academic intervention programs); serve as a leader for and provide ongoing oversight of the Success Hubs in each of the first-year residence halls; Provide workshops, intervention initiatives, and other ongoing programming to provide holistic support to address the needs of undergraduates, graduates, and professional students.Work directly with students meeting their academic support needs-specifically ensuring strong outreach to those students who identify as First-Generation, Students of Color and under-represented students. Serve as the primary leader and instructor for TSC 120 and 130 academic success courses.Ensure strategic direction, data collection, and overall success monitoring of areas within this position's scope.Various University Committees and Projects; Serve on the Student Success Leadership team within the division.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Student Affairs, or a related field required. PhD or EdD preferred.Minimum 5 years related work experience in higher education or related area, some supervisory experience.Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate effective academic support programs, workshops, initiatives and curriculum for Success Strategies courses.Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff and to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff and stakeholders across diverse academic disciplines.Knowledge of student development theories, academic intervention/coaching models, student persistence and retention data/assessment and high-impact practices.Proficient in data analysis and using data to inform decision-making.Experience with teaching and advising key student populations, specifically first-generation, neurodivergent and under-represented students.
