Regional Director of Operations

provides leadership, management, and vision for the Mid-Atlantic region to ensure that the company effectively and efficiently delivers exceptional operational and fulfillment outcomes. This will include driving improved operational performance across all regional facilities and all operational disciplines (i.e., safety, warehousing, transportation, branch support operations, etc.), utilizing a variety of operational strategies.This position will partner with customer service, order management, inventory planning, and regional and corporate business functions.

Transportation and logistics responsibilities will include management of dedicated fleet and other transportation providers.

Regional Director of Operations

will cultivate and leverage multiple cross-functional business relationships to identify and execute creative solutions to organizational opportunities and challenges. As a key member of the region’s leadership team, the Director of Operations will assist in setting the region’s strategic goals and ensure operating plans are aligned to support those objectives.Key Responsibilities

Establish and implement long-term operations objectives that are aligned with business goals. Partner with the regional leadership team to develop and execute a plan for the operations organization to support regional business.Drive and implement standardized, documented best practices and processes across all operations areas.60% of the time feet on the ground expectation in multiple warehouse facilities leading, guiding, inspecting, and validating workflow efficiency and effectiveness.Plan, organize, direct, and manage the course of operations to maintain profitability by controlling inventory, losses, accidents, and safety. Seek synergies and best practices to develop and implement new methods to improve productivity and customer service.Drive safety, warehouse, transportation, logistical improvements, and productivity via major KPIs such as inbound/outbound logistics performance, cost, inventory accuracy, annual physical inventory, safety compliance, and on-time delivery.Refine and implement an operations structure that is integrated with supply chain and minimizes total system cost while providing superior customer service. Coordinate with 3rd party service providers as needed to resolve operational issues.Analyze the regional logistics network to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies, processes, service levels, and optimal fulfillment channels. Develop a deep understanding of the customer fulfillment experience to properly assess service level improvements.Develop tools and processes for implementing, driving, and sustaining change.Monitor staff performance and organizational processes and collaborate with other stakeholders to enhance productivity and staff satisfaction.About Us

10+ years of progressive operations and logistics leadership experience in a wholesale, distribution or fulfillment environment required.Bachelor’s degree preferred with a preference for Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain degree.Demonstrated experience using continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma to lead operational transformations.A clear ‘bias for action’ and a sense of urgency to operate within a fast-paced and entrepreneurially minded organization.A willingness and ability to display a ‘roll up the sleeves’ approach, engaging in driving tactical execution when necessary.Experience in running a 3rd party dedicated fleet or an asset-based trucking operation in a distribution environment.Demonstrated EH&S experience in a distribution environment.Experience using continuous improvement and lean principles to lead operational transformation (i.e., footprint optimization, cost-out, on-time delivery, safety, quality, etc.). Lean Six-Sigma Experience and Certification is beneficial.Expert understanding of materials management, warehousing, and inventory control policies, processes, procedures, and systems.Experience with network optimization, quantifiable results in identifying supply chain improvements through scenario analysis, logistics spend, and footprint decisions.Strong problem solving and analytical skills in support of metrics-, data- and process-oriented objectives; ability to succinctly report on critical operations measures.Excellent financial, quantitative, and analytical skills.Demonstrated success as a people leader, including the ability to: set and gain buy-in for strategic direction and vision; attract, hire, retain, and develop key/critical operations leaders; and establish an engaging culture of accountability, quality, and customer focus.Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others.Willingness to travel – 35% of the time.
