We are positioned on virtually every aircraft flying today, supplying highly reliable systems that are supportable and add significant value for our customers.Aircraft Group Strategic Sourcing LeadFor a selected group of suppliers and under the direction of the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, the Strategic Sourcing Lead is responsible for: development of strategic sourcing plans including make vs buy inputs, supplier identification and selection, negotiating and closing high value long term agreements, supplier relationship management, supplier partnership and development as well as general contractual supplier support for all Aircraft Group (AG) sites and sectors. The ability to effectively manage relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders throughout the process is critical.Responsibilities:New programs, existing programs and aftermarket programs throughout the entire lifecycle including proposal development, new product introduction, rate increase and mass production to meet quality, total cost, delivery, and inventory goals.Develops strategic sourcing plans for designated commodity group.Supports and facilitates AG Make vs Buy strategy inputs.Evaluates market environment.Develops strategies to achieve increased leverage.Identifies, selects & develops suppliers to enable production.Develops channels of supply to achieve reduced lead time and Moog inventory holding, increased quality and delivery and therefore lowest total cost (not just the lowest purchase price).Maintains and fosters effective supplier relationships.Contract & pricing negotiation and maintenance including claim management.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree level education preferred in the fields of Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business.Minimum 5 years of progressive experience (usually post education) in the field of manufacturing or engineering.Requires strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to understand and facilitate complex supply chain decision making over the strategic time window of 5 years.Requires excellent working knowledge and understanding of contractual requirements, business systems and processes.A good understanding of supply chain networks and linkage and flow.Required to effectively communicate both internally and externally with customers and suppliers.Ability to deal with a variety of tasks at any one time and understand the priorities.Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Good negotiating skills, combined with knowledge of procurement and contractual law is preferred.Good communication/organizational skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to understand complex regulations/procedures.Global business travel will be required to visit Moog internal sites and their suppliers - sometimes with short notice.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in business or Engineering.Engineering or technical background, along with Project/Program Management experience.Prior experience in Aerospace.Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Program Management.Located in Western New York or availability to relocate to the local area.Benefits:Comprehensive benefits package with day 1 enrollment.Flexible Planned Vacation.Generous 401k match and company contribution.Profit share for full-time employees.Tuition Reimbursement.Stock Purchase Program.Amazing company culture.The base pay range for this opportunity is $95,000 - $120,000 per year. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
