Position Summary

The web developer will design, build, and create a website for an upcoming project. The website design and content will include: 1. A new website design that is modern, clean, and easy to navigate 2. New Logo to represent project 3. Clear Sitemap that makes the case for our project. 4. Content editing help as needed to adhere to current website best practices 5. Stock photography as needed to contribute to the web design 6. Contact form where data will be emailed to a designated recipient and stored in an online databaseThe technical and accessibility aspect of the website will include: 1. Wordpress Content Management System where staff can login through a web browser to easily make website updates 2. Responsive coding so that the site is optimized for all screen sizes & mobile devices 3. Highest accessibility standards to ensure inclusive access 4. Search Engine Optimization best practices 5. Google Analytics integration to track usage 6. Work with UNC to obtain the desired URL with a .unc.edu domain name. 7. Training on how to update and maintain website contentThe hosting of the website criteria is: 1. High performance hosting with fast download times and optimized for Wordpress 2. Nightly Backups 3. SSL Certificate for secure https access 4. Quarterly software updates and security patches 5. At-your-service help for editing questions or small changes. Larger requests will be priced on case-by-case basis.This position will need a candidate who can work under a tight deadline with time management skills who is detail oriented and responsive to edits and feedback.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Master's or Bachelors and 0-2 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Experience with Wordpress Content Management System, creating and designing websites, accessibility training and meeting accessibility standards for inclusive web design. Experience with coding and creating an optimized website.
