ASQ was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.The PositionThe Marketing Communications Director reports directly to the Chief of Member Experience and is responsible for the strategic direction, management, and operations of ASQ's marketing and communications team. This team is comprised of campaign strategy, owned & paid channel strategy, marketing automation strategy & execution, marketing and communications operations, analytics, ASQ's digital video content platform - ASQTV, and external Society public relations and communications.The ideal candidate for this role will have strong strategic leadership, organizational, and communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects & campaigns simultaneously while being able to adapt to change. Candidates with a demonstrated history of successfully working with cross-functional teams to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and who have previous strategic leadership experience are highly sought after for this role.The salary range for this role is $114,003- $142,504/year.ScopeThis position is responsible for 2-3 direct reports and 7-9 indirect reports.Oversees the daily operations of the Marketing Communications team and leads the execution of initiatives.Leads development of association vision and marketing strategy supporting ASQ brand positioning, membership retention & acquisition, corporate training lead generation, learning product sales, publication sales, conference registration, and new product launches.Strategically leverages optimal media mix, audience segmentation, personalized creative, and promotions to deliver measurable impact.Responsible to develop, manage, and drive compliance to the annual marketing business plan and budget.Main ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Marketing Communications team; leading the development and execution of integrated and data-driven marketing and communication strategies. Focuses on driving business objectives, enhancing results, and maximizing ROI to support the achievement of ASQ's strategic goals.Lead and manage brand maintenance, evolution, and reputation. Direct the Society's brand identity by overseeing brand consistency, continuity, and reputation across all channels including all design, brand guidelines, and strategy.Partner with Executive Leadership to champion the organizational initiatives and opportunities that demonstrate a strong value proposition for our members. Collaborates with leadership to establish and report department KPIs. Responsible to meet or exceed goals.Provides dynamic leadership and instills a sense of urgency in achieving goals and executing marketing campaigns across ASQ's functional areas. Actively engages in campaigns and initiatives as needed, while enhancing staff development through both quantitative and qualitative goal setting.Direct and lead external Society communications in conjunction with the Executive Leadership, Office of the Chair, the ASQ Board of Directors, committees of the board, staff, and external partners.Responsible for identifying the voice of the customer (VOC) by segment and direct the development of omni-channel (email, social, tv, print, in-person, etc.) product marketing campaigns at targeted audiences to deliver measurable organizational impact to drive greater brand equity.Leads project management of marketing and communications initiatives needed to inform organization and marketing strategies in partnership with external partners.Collaborates with internal stakeholders to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of ASQ's strategic plan, product and service solutions, work group priorities, market/economic environment. Converts business intelligence and VOC into marketing strategies that align with business objectives.Manages budget responsibilities as appropriate to minimize expenses, meet business goals, and maximize ROI.Directs reporting and drives continuous improvement of marketing analytics, including tracking, analyzing, and communicating business results for all campaigns and assigned projects. Measures engagement and effectiveness.Leverages ASQ databases to define target markets/segments to develop effective acquisition, retention, cross-sell, and campaign strategies.Hires, trains, manages, and develops team members to effectively carry out department functions. Effectively serves as the head of an internal marketing agency serving multiple ASQ work groups.Plans, prepares, presents, and adheres to the marketing department annual business plan and budget, including the strategic outsourcing of creative and media agency support. Negotiates vendor contracts and monitors vendor performance.Adheres to ASQ Competencies (TACT): Trust, Accountability, Collaboration, and Transparency.Performs all other duties as assigned.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Hybrid Office Environment with 2+ days in office at the Milwaukee Headquarters location. Must be able to travel up to 10%.Bring Your Best: Position Minimum QualificationsA bachelor's degree in marketing or related field; minimum of 10 years of omnichannel marketing experience; minimum of 7 years of project management experience; minimum of 5 years of people management experience, minimum of 2 years of Customer Service Management (CRM) experience, minimum of 2 years of experience with using project management tools, minimum of 2 years Microsoft 365 experience; or equivalent combination. Must be able to comply with attendance and timeliness policies.The LocationASQ is conveniently situated in downtown Milwaukee, immediately adjacent to major freeway exits and the robust downtown economy.
