Position SummaryThe Manager, Motorsports and Partnerships Communications – Bridgestone West (Americas + Europe, Middle East and Africa) is responsible for operating strategically in the management of communications activities related to Bridgestone motorsports and partnerships platforms to ensure alignment with company narratives and global strategy. This individual will work vertically within the Marketing Center of Excellence (COE) and horizontally with stakeholders across the organization. This individual will develop and deliver a cohesive narrative for premium brand partnership platforms that allows Bridgestone West to speak with “one unified voice.” This role will have significant focus on connecting motorsports and partnerships platforms from different regions into a central communications strategy that engages all audiences in a simple and easy to understand manner.

As a communications leader this position will work to advance Bridgestone’s transformation from the No. 1 tire and rubber company to a leader in sustainable mobility solutions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience successfully navigating a global environment, ability to operate in ambiguity and find creative solutions, and strong writing skills. The ideal individual should also have a background in media relations, stakeholder identification, and integrated marketing with a natural ability to think strategically while delivering tactical results. Experience in motorsports or brand partnership activation is preferred.

This cross-regional role will manage agency and project resources and will have accountability to teammates and topics in the Americas and EMEA markets. This role reports to the Director, Corporate & Enterprise Strategic Communications, Bridgestone West.

ResponsibilitiesOverall Responsibilities:

The Manager, Motorsports and Partnerships Communications will lead the creation and delivery of clear and concise strategic partnership and motorsports communications that support Bridgestone speaking with “one unified voice” across the West. The intent of this role is to eliminate competing narratives and duplication of work based on individual interpretations of global and West language and/or campaign materials in relation to our brand partnerships and global motorsports strategy. This position will be responsible for working with motorsports and partnership activation teams, business leaders, external partners, and global communications colleagues. This role will refine and deliver our strategic brand narratives to support better internalization and understanding among teammates and external stakeholders. It will also collaborate with fellow communications leaders on media and influencer engagement to achieve strategic objectives.

Driving consistency and eliminating redundant communications activities in our motorsports and partnership activations is an important aspect of this role. This includes positioning Bridgestone well through:

Conveying an easy to understand and cohesive sustainable premium motorsports narrative which supports our business strategy.

Identifying proactive stakeholder engagement and media opportunities to further leverage our investments in brand partnerships and community impact initiatives;

Effective, strategic and integrated communications showcasing for consumers and customers the “Reason to Buy” and “Reason to Care” about Bridgestone and Firestone products; and

Enhancing Bridgestone PRIDE (personal responsibility in delivering excellence) among teammates.

This role will collaborate on brand initiatives and the implementation of appropriate communications platforms to ensure reach both vertically and horizontally with the Marketing COE and activation partners across the West. The position will have ownership and drive execution of multi-channel enterprise content strategies that include regional and global sustainable premium motorsports initiatives. These initiatives include Formula E, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, the Indy 500, Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, Indy Autonomous Challenge, FIA ecoRally Cup, and more. The role will also manage multi-channel communications activities for brand building community impact partnerships through Bridgestone Golf, Firestone music, and more. This individual will also be responsible for developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as part of a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) process to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of materials developed.

This role will support the Director, Corporate & Enterprise Strategic Communications, in efforts to position Bridgestone as a standout for innovation and sustainable mobility in the motorsports and transportation sectors. The position will ensure all communications developed are high quality and align with enterprise initiatives at the Bridgestone Americas, Bridgestone EMEA, and Global levels. Multi-channel content must be delivered in a manner that is compelling, accurate and well organized, and have a clear and consistent style/tone.

Specific Responsibilities:

Lead the development and execution of strategic integrated communications plans and activities to successfully support external and internal communications for our premium brand and motorsports partnership platforms in alignment with global and regional business strategies.

Manage day-to-day sustainable premium motorsports program communications, working in concert with the partners in Communications, Marketing Strategic Operations (MSO), and global Bridgestone Japan (BSJ) motorsports teams on messaging, as well as with the West PR team to secure proactive media.

Manage day-to-day brand partnership and community impact communications, working in concert with the MSO and regional integrated marketing teams on messaging, as well as with the West PR team to secure proactive media.

Partner with leaders and subject matter experts across the enterprise and Marketing COE on message development and leverage key storytelling opportunities.

Manage, track and evaluate strong KPIs, strategies, tactics and measurements to support the enterprise through high-impact, upper- and mid-funnel communications.

Establish strong partnerships across West Businesses and Marketing COE; model effectiveness of integrated communications to support business goals and objectives.

Build and enhance relationships with leaders across the West and Bridgestone Japan to ensure alignment and consistency of messages.

Manage supporting agencies and budgets to ensure efficiencies and on-time product delivery within budget.

Minimum Qualifications

7+ years of relevant corporate communications or public relations experience developing and managing global communications strategies and programs, preferably for a global company; agency experience is a plus.

Experience in motorsports, brand partnership activations, and/or community impact communications is preferred.

Superior influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to lead and work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of both internal teammates and external agency partners.

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field of study.

Global mindset, previous experience managing direct reports, and experience working in a matrix organization preferred.

Bachelor's degree; 6 y+ years of relevant experience including 3-5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience.

Or Master's degree; 4+ years of relevant experience including 2-4 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience.

Travel: As needed; up to 15% of time.
