The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law seeks applicants for the position of Legal Career Specialist, Career Development Office (CDO). The CDO is one of the largest student services offices at the Law College, providing important career and professional development training, programs, and advising for Arizona Law's students and alumni. The primary responsibility of the Legal Career Specialist is to advise law students on their career development and professional development. The position will work closely with the CDO advising team and other departments at the Law College to achieve the CDO's goals for student employment outcomes. click here .Duties & Responsibilities

Student & Alumni Career CounselingProvide individual career advising to law students and alumni to assist them in achieving short- and long-term career goals.Provide counseling on career path exploration, job search strategies, and professional development drawing on the incumbent's area(s) of expertise (e.g., private practice, public interest, government, judicial clerkships, and JD advantage opportunities).Advising will incorporate knowledge of the legal employment market and will require knowledge and experience in legal practice areas, staying on top of new trends, and resources available to law students.Review student materials, conduct mock interviews, and collect data on summer and post-graduate employment.Develop and deliver educational programming to students.Assist other Law College departments in their efforts to recruit, retain, and provide value to prospective and current students.Structured Recruiting Programs & EventsSupport planning and execution of Arizona Law structured recruiting events, including interview programs, career and professional development programming, and related events.Partner with CDO advisors and CDO student workers to connect with the Arizona Law student body and deliver programming of interest to the law student population.Career Office Technologies, Services, & ResourcesIdentify gaps in existing career office services and resources and propose and develop systems and resources to fill those gaps.Leverage core career office technologies to communicate regularly with student, alumni, and employer audiences, including regular CDO communications.Work with Law College departments, including Admissions, Alumni & Development, and Global, to understand the departments' goals and align CDO's work to advance those goals.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge and expertise in the legal job market and the law school experience.Ability to interact with students and colleagues in a sensitive and empathetic manner.Dedication to following through on commitments and following up with collaborators.Ability to keep protected information confidential.Ability to optimize use of technology common in law school settings including 12Twenty, FloRecruit, Trellis, Qualtrics, and others.Knowledge and expertise on legal job market and law school curriculum/administration.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Preferred Qualifications
