Passionate staff needed at Greater Commonwealth Virtual School (GCVS).2024-2025 School Year Position:**This position is IN-PERSON 4 days a week at the GCVS Hadley, MA Support Center. One day per week, work is completed virtually. This is a 180 day school year position paid at an hourly rate. Daily, our talented teachers and staff experience the impact they make on the lives of our students.Our Mission: The Greater Commonwealth Virtual School, a public school of choice, serves students from across Massachusetts who need a learning community that is accessible and flexible.AS A PARAPROFESSIONAL you will:Attend to the daily needs of GCVS students who attend the Hadley, MA Support CenterDirect academic and social support under the direction of the Coordinator of Student SupportLead students through successful courseworkWork 1:1 and in small groups with studentsEffectively communicate with Learning Coaches and caregivers as neededWork collaboratively with school staff as assignedPrioritize individual student needs so that each child may reach their fullest potentialPartner with GCVS teachers to manage students’ needsEngage and nurture student learning and relationshipsBe a team playerParticipate in required GCVS and state trainingsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Education/Early ChildhoodExperience working in an educational settingProficient in Microsoft and Google DocsStrong written/verbal communication skillsAn ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g. learning management systems, web-based instructional tools)PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, prepare and create instructional activitiesConduct personalized support/tutorial services for studentsCreate a positive educational climate for students to learn inPersonalize instruction based on student learning needsParticipate in ongoing training sessionsDevelop incentives to engage participants in classWork with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being metGreater Commonwealth Virtual School238 Main Street, Third FloorGreenfield, MA 01301413-475-3879
