Job Description:The American Red Cross is seeking an Events Specialist who will be responsible for the success of fundraising events throughout the North Carolina Region. This is a hybrid work location, a combination of at home, in office, and out in the field meeting with vendors and donors.Responsibilities:Plan, coordinate, and implement events in collaboration with staff and volunteer leadership.Research and donor development: Research, identify, cultivate, and solicit new and existing donors for monetary and/or in-kind gifts to support chapter special events.Develop effective working relationships with donors, volunteers, government, and foundation representatives.Provide leadership and guidance to assigned event chairs and committees.Create and collaborate with other development staff on special events project plans and participate in budget development.Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to develop materials related to events.Direct the work of development volunteers or staff regarding administrative support duties.What You Need to Succeed:High School or equivalent experience required.Minimum 7 years of related experience and documented success in event planning or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.Leadership ability with exemplary interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills.Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.Physical Requirements:
