The successful candidate will have the ability to manage cases independently and must be ready to engage in trial-related activities such as depositions, discovery, and hearings.Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day responsibilities of employment law cases, including litigation and client communicationHandle employment class actions, including trade secret and restrictive covenant casesConduct and defend depositions, and manage written discovery processesPrepare persuasive briefs and other legal documentsRepresent clients in hearings and trials, as well as in settlement negotiationsInterview witnesses and gather relevant facts for case preparationProvide strategic advice to clients regarding employment policies, procedures, and compliance with labor lawsMaintain a strong understanding of relevant employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and other federal and state regulationsCollaborate with partners and other associates on complex legal mattersMentor junior associates and provide guidance on case preparation and strategyRequired Qualifications

4-6 years of experience in labor and employment lawDemonstrable substantive knowledge of employment law, including:

Title VII of the Civil Rights ActAmericans with Disabilities Act (ADA)Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA)Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)Similar federal and Texas state employment laws

Significant litigation experience, including trial participation and responsibility for casesStrong academic credentials and professional referencesMember of the Texas State Bar or willingness to quickly obtain membershipEducation and Certifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar (or eligibility to obtain)Skills and Competencies
