Job Summary:
The Gift Shop Supervisor is responsible for meeting with new and existing gift shop vendors, making purchase recommendations of gift shop items, tracking merchandise inventory, budget and revenue, setting weekly staffing schedules, and managing CHOC gift shop Associates and volunteers.
Pay Range:
Minimum $57,242 Midpoint $75,816 Maximum $94,432
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience:
Two or more years of retail experience required
Preferred previous retail management and merchandising experience
Education:
High School diploma or G.E.D. required
Training:
None required
Specialized Skills:
Merchandising, organization and inventory control abilities
Scheduling oversight
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Highly motivated, self-directed and able to work independently while also serving as a contributing member of the team
Uses good judgment and initiative to resolve daily problems and/or challenges as they occur
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Maintains professionalism while communicating with all customers
Ability to assist in setting goals and judging results in accordance with the hospital's vision, mission and strategic plan; helps identify ways to improve productivity, customer service and accuracy in the gift shop
Willingness to learn new skills and programs as required by changing work environment
Special Skills Desired Preferred:
Bi-Lingual Spanish or Vietnamese and English; Previous experience in either a health care environment or a not-for-profit
Licensure:
Preferred: Drivers License - Class C
Work Environments - Functional Demand:
Light - Moderate energy level. Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (i.e., empty bed, stretcher).
