Position ObjectiveThis position will lead and direct a strategic approach for a corporate sustainability and social responsibility structure, through partnerships with senior leadership, product development, sales, marketing, operations and HR departments.This person will help set up processes, procedures, and develop key relationships on behalf of our Clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop a strategic plan identifying key gaps and opportunities and align with wellness/sustainability goals and objectives.

Develop key performance metrics and indicators to monitor and assess progress towards achieving company goals.

Provide an overview of all Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental, Wellness/Sustainability, and Governance programs to the senior management

Using market insight, develop, recommend, and implement sustainable product strategies for all businesses to meet Harvard’s and customer sustainability goals.

Ensure programs developed comply with all contracts, laws, rules, and regulations governing program activities at the local, state, and national levels.

Actively participate on the Harvard Sustainability Council.

Work collaboratively across functions to lead and collaborate with formal and informal teams across the organization to drive sustainability initiatives.

Engage, influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives to advance the sustainability agenda and results

Monitor and communicate internally new or pending policies and regulations that affect the Company.

Review and analyze current sustainability trends to be integrated into the Company’s sustainability strategy

Define the scope of a project and its benchmarks.

Track projects schedules, costs and deliverable items.

Oversee and evaluate contractor performance.

Utilizes lean six sigma concepts to integrate continuous improvement strategies across organization.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree ideally in Science in Environmental/Sustainable Management, Sustainable Business, or related field to wellness/sustainability.

5+ Years of wellness/sustainability and/or environmental management experience.

Demonstrated ability in leading sustainability strategies and programs.

Knowledge of key sustainability principles and zero-waste programs as they relate to our industry.

Financial and technical capabilities to develop strong business cases.

Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships internally and externally, particularly with marketing, technology, and key stakeholders in a matrixed organization.

Ability to be recognized as a sustainability thought leader inside and outside the company.

Strong customer relationship skills and ability to proactively address their wants and needs.

Effective influencing skills to obtain support for initiatives and challenging the status quo.

Excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of sustainability market trends and opportunities.

Ability to travel up to 30-40%. Proven analytical skills

Self-starter with excellent dependability, judgment and integrity

Knowledge of federal, state and local laws
