POSITION SUMMARY

Through our Community Impact Grants, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) delivers vital funding and support to over 200 local organizations that are doing outstanding work in the areas of education, income, and health. Our open, competitive application process identifies those organizations that will have the greatest impact in helping us reach our Aspired United 2030 Community Goals. We are committed to seeking out and supporting community-based organizations who have not previously received United Way support, with a focus on building a strong pipeline of organizations that are most proximate to the areas of greatest need.

The Senior Director, Community Impact Investment and Engagement requires a high level of knowledge, experience, and commitment to stewarding effective grant making resulting in measurable progress toward UWMD's Aspire United 2030 goals in education, income, and health and a strong track record of enthusiastically seeking out, and building and maintaining deep relationships with a vast array of community-based organizations ranging from small grassroots providers to large scale organizations. Additionally, the position requires strong people skills and experience working collaboratively with volunteers and nonprofit professionals.

This role is responsible for UWMD's Community Impact Grant (CIG) funding systems and processes, implementation, evaluation, and training, support, and capacity building for Community Impact Grantees and applicants and recruits, trains, and supports Community Impact Grants volunteers and supports UWMD Community Impact grants portfolio managers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Community Impact Grant funding processes and related systems, including development and/or revision of multi-year RFP.

Lead Capacity Building programming designed to strengthen nonprofits and build a pipeline for Community Impact Grantees and other Community Impact partnerships, including Community Impact Initiatives and Projects.

Serve as a Community Impact liaison for external capacity building efforts.

Operate and manage Survey Monkey Apply grant system for the Community Impact Department as the System Administrator for United Way.

Manage the stewardship screening process, including financial review, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer management, for grant funding processes.

Work closely with Sr. Director Data Capacity Building Initiative to ensure consistent communication, coordination and alignment.

Lead staff in the recruitment, training, and relationship management of all Community Impact Grant volunteers, in coordination with Marketing/Resource Development.

Lead staff in orientation and training for all current and potential related Community Impact funded organizations.

Lead development and analysis of bi-annual Community Impact Grantee progress reports and evaluations.

Lead staff in the analysis, tracking, and development of reports on the progress.

Serve on cross functional teams representing Community Impact.

Work with Marketing and Resource Development to update collateral, website, and share information from programming.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT OF COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANTS OPERATIONS 65%

Implement systems and processes related to Community Impact Grant (CIG).

Recruit, train, and support volunteers and professional staff to support CIG.

Evaluation and progress reporting for CIG.

CAPACITY BUILDING/COMMUNITY IMPACT PARTNER ENGAGEMENT 35%

Seek out and build relationships with community-based organizations to build a strong pipeline for Community Impact Grant applicants and Community Impact Initiatives.

Develop and implement capacity-building programs and resources for Community Impact Grantees and prospects.

EDUCATION:Bachelors degree in urban planning/public administration, Education, Social Work, or related field. Graduate degree or commensurate experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE:A minimum of 10 years of non-profit experience required, including community engagement and partnership development and volunteer management. Experience in United Way Community Impact management and implementation, grants management, grant systems, and project management strongly preferred.
