Fairmont Heritage Place Ghirardelli Square is a Private Residence Club with 53 one, two and three bedroom residences.What is in it for you:Opportunity to develop your talent and grow within your property and across the world!Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21.Job DescriptionPosition Scope:Under the business supervision of the Vice President of Finance & Business Solutions and within the limits of ACCOR policies and procedures, HOA (Home Owner’s Association) governing documents, and local requirements, the position is responsible for the oversight of all finance/accounting matters and supervision of the Finance and Business Support team at Fairmont Heritage Place (FHP).The Director of Finance & Business Support will provide strategic leadership, functional guidance, and valuable insights at Fairmont Heritage Place Ghirardelli Square. The candidate will be a highly motivated team player with strong skillsets in finance, accounting, communication, business presentation, analysis, and fluent knowledge of HOA governing documents and operations.Core Duties and Responsibilities:Business Partnering and Performance Management:Creation and embracing the culture of business partnering by working with the General Manager at FHP Ghirardelli Square. The Director of Finance & Business Support and the General Manager are jointly responsible for achieving optimal operating performance and returns for ACCOR and our owners without losing sight of all measured KPIs.Lead and supervise the finance team to ensure the books and records are in compliance with GAAP, Accor, local, state and federal laws.Partner and collaborate with finance and leadership teams to provide strategic leadership and functional guidance for the residential property.Develop the business and financial acumen of the finance and leadership team to ensure they understand the impact of every component on the business in order to drive performance and compliance in areas of responsibility.Develop and manage relationships and communication with HOA board members and HOA Finance Committee and fulfill HOA governance requirements.Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analysis:Provide accurate and complete financial and management reports on a timely basis to hotel management, corporate office, and HOA in accordance with the company (ACCOR) and ownership (HOA) reporting requirements and policy.Review financial performance of department/area, analysis of variances, forecasts, and budgets and/or recommend alternate strategies to continually improve effectiveness of the business or financial management within the boundaries of governing company (ACCOR) and ownership (HOA) documents.Manage the financial affairs of the HOA in compliance with governing documents and management agreements.Manage the financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process.Manage the Capital Reserve Plan and Capital Fund aligned with ACCOR standards. Ensure all hotels establish and maintain the tracking of fixed assets sub-ledgers and depreciation.Audit FHP Benefit programs to ensure proper capture of revenue and compliance with standards.Collaborate with the real estate community to maximize unit and/or fractional sales and owner values.In addition to the preparation of all financial statements, accounting and statistical reports, and any other special report that may be required by the VP of Finance or the General Manager, the Director of Finance & Business Support is responsible for interpreting said reports and then communicating the results with the VP of Finance, General Manager, and relevant department heads.Compliance & Risk Management:Has a fiduciary responsibility to ACCOR and the HOA for ensuring the hotel is reporting in compliance with the policies, the Uniform Chart of Accounts, HOA documents, and hotel management or other contractual arrangements with respect to accounting matters.All laws and fiscal regulations of the area location, which affect financial matters of the hotel, will be complied with. This includes ensuring that proper permits and licenses are obtained for such things as liquor licenses, sellers permits, business licenses, etc.To protect the owners and the management company’s interest in the hotel assets and operations.The safekeeping of all lease and contracts and any other legal records and documents, which may affect the financial status of the hotel. Such documents are to be listed and kept current on the Critical Date List.To follow all safety policies.Performs other similar or related duties as necessary.Compensation:Salary Range: $130k - $150kQualifications:Accounting Designation, Bachelor's or master’s degree in Business, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. CPA or MBA preferred.3-5 years progressive work-related experience in multiple areas of accounting (including property management, hotel, or homeowners association accounting), and/or capital projects management and reporting, financial and/or business analysis, accounting, merger/acquisition analysis, or a related area, with 3-5 years managing teams and/or significant complex projects.Demonstrated experience in leading & developing people. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to address all levels within the organization and ability to gain consensus and influence others.Demonstrated experience with accounting systems or similar financial software for the purpose of financial reporting, analysis, and presentation.Demonstrated knowledge of finance, budgeting, and accounting processes and regulations, along with demonstrated knowledge of capital projects management standards and techniques and GAAP regulations and procedures.Fluent in Microsoft Windows applications and relevant computer applications.Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail.Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:We are an inclusive company and our ambition is to attract, recruit, and promote diverse talent.Why Work for Accor?We are far more than a worldwide leader.
