SUMMARY
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for all HR functions including but not limited to employee recruitment and retention, performance management, human resources information systems, employee and labor relations, internal investigation, and staying up to date on federal, state, and local laws and policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishes and monitors HR policies and implements procedures that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws & regulations, and recommended best practices.
Introduces and maintains HRIS program for enhanced efficiency.
Sets up and maintains general control methods, records, and files as required for effective human resources functions.
Ensures that proper pre-screening policies are followed.
Designs and implements departmental forms and procedures.
Directs new hire protocols.
Ensures that personnel files are current and compliant.
Maintains ongoing knowledge by attending seminars and/or training sessions.
Conducts and manages internal investigations of employee complaints, grievances, and suspected violations of policies and procedures, and proposes appropriate resolution to Executive Team.
Participates in safety and compliance meetings.
Tracks and analyzes incidents & trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Maintains and administers all record-keeping requirements.
Manages EEOC claims.
Manages Unemployment claims.
Liaison with work comp carrier in management of claims.
Manages HR staff: Overseeing HR personnel and employee-related initiatives.
Handles employment relations: Managing employee relations and disputes.
Compiles information about compensation and benefits packages based on market data.
Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s Degree, plus five years’ experience in the Human Resources Field or a minimum of 10 years of comprehensive experience in lieu of a degree.
