The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans through the work of multiple divisions.

Examples of Important and Essential Duties:The essential functions of a 2202 Dental Aide include, but are not limited to:

Conduct oral health assessments, X-rays, cancer screenings, periodontal probing, local anesthesia, soft-tissue curettage, and scaling/root planing.

Apply sealants and fluoride and provide oral health instructions.

Educate patients, nurses, staff, and the community on oral health and prevention.

Create educational materials and assist in coordinating case management.

Set program goals, track progress, and prepare reports.

Perform research work, training, and act as consultant to public health and school personnel on oral health programs.

Manage dental supplies and equipment.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE : One year of verifiable full-time experience as a Dental Hygienist;

AND

LICENSE : Possession of a valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license issued by the Dental Hygienist Committee of California;

AND

Possession of, or the ability to obtain within two weeks of hire, and maintenance of a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate issued by the American Heart Association.
