Position Overview : Plans, directs, and implements policies for all areas of the Human Resource functions including staffing, compensation, payroll, benefits, training, employee relations, health, and compliance. Administers and innovates human resources programs and policies to support company goals and positively engage the workforce. Plays a fundamental role in emphasizing company culture both internally and externally, as a culture champion, change agent, and business advocate.

As a member of our Leadership Team, you will have a seat at the table to lead the HR Department and support the people objectives for the organization. This role provides the company with the following:

Additionally, this role will work alongside our Market Directors to influence, manage and improve upon our companies’ employee engagement, training and development.

JOB DUTIES:

HR

Plans, directs, and implements the strategic vision and policies for all areas of the human resources function including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, health, and compliance.

Administers and innovates human resources programs and policies that support company goals and positively engage the workforce.

Analyze turnover and employee relations data and produce metrics outlining the current state and recommendations.

Advises Executive Leadership on all human resources issues and ensures organizational compliance with broad and current subject matter knowledge that includes expertise in federal and multi-state employment laws.

Maintains a HRIS or other system for all required processes and transactions that provide data and reporting on HR activity.

Creates functional strategies, specific objectives and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.

Participate in the development of the company’s plans and programs as a strategic partner particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.

Responsible for organizational planning, employee development, and performance management execution in alignment with the company’s strategic growth plans.

Develop, implement and communicate policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.

Collaborates with Senior Leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to Executive Leadership.

Facilitate and manage employee relations processes and issue resolution.

Integrate and implement human resource software systems for better efficiency and human capital management.

Develop, lead, and continuously improve the talent development processes, including learning and development, strategic organizational design, and HR analytics.

Regular cadence of HR analytics around HR’s Business KPIs, measures of job satisfaction, employee recognition and reward, and retention initiatives.

Strategically shape what should be internally managed versus outsourced.

All other duties as assigned.

Payroll & Benefits

Subject matter expert for payroll and benefits functions.

Review, analyze, select, and administer company benefit programs including open enrollment and administer COBRA and FMLA.

Create and develop payroll processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy of department.

Responsible for all payroll functions to assure accurate and timely payroll for employees; Process or approve all adjustments and changes in salaries, supplemental payments, hires, resignations, retirement eligibility and deductions.

Prepare all correspondence related to payroll including biweekly reporting analysis.

Develop and maintain an Audit process for all systems ensuring internal control; Ensure compliance and maintain up-to-date records.

Maintain and manage good vendor/broker relationships.

Manage Open Enrollment annually for company; review benefit vendor rates, recommend changes to benefits, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention, facilitate Open Enrollment meetings for employees and ensure accuracy of information submitted directly to carriers or through benefits broker.

Administer the 401(k) plan and complete yearly compliance reporting.

Administer leave and disability claims.

Works alongside broker on Benefit administration including claims resolution, change reporting, invoice processing, approval and tracking. Communicates benefits information to employees.

Ensure timely filing of all plan compliance documents and maintain up-to-date records; as well as ensure employee plan communications meet regulatory requirements, ie. Form 5500, etc.

Perform project work or other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.

At least 5 -8 years of human resource management experience required.

At least 5 years of payroll management and processing experience.

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP (preferred), SPHR, or PHR (at least one required).

Proven leadership and development skills with the ability to build successful teams and effectively partner with operational leaders.

Outstanding and effective communication skills.

Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and make difficult decisions in a timely manner. Manages conflict and brings all forms of workplace conflict to a successful resolution.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines. Delegate when appropriate.

Ability to read and interpret financial statements, forecasts, and participate in annual budget planning.

Dynamic leadership agility navigating hierarchy and cross-functional stakeholder needs.

In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Understanding and experience with Employer Branding and Recruitment Marketing strategies.

Ability to demonstrate empathy and care.

HRIS knowledge required, Paycor experience a plus.

Strong vendor management experience.
