The Energy Storage Services Sr. Analyst/ Manager will be the primary point of contact for Standard Solar's energy storage related activities. This position supports all energy storage support activities from assisting Business Development with evaluating storage opportunities through engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, financing, and ongoing operations. Deep working knowledge of energy storage systems, their applications for stand-alone and renewables co-located services is a pre-requisite. The candidate should understand current primary energy storage revenues available and be able to articulate a viewpoint on future services / applications that could be monetized. Working knowledge of investor requirements related to energy storage project financing is important for success. Candidates should understand key differences between the most common lithium-ion battery chemistries and preferred applications for different chemistries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset, aspiring to develop and share thought leadership in the realm of energy storage and its applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work with Business Development to develop efficient processes and tools for screening inbound energy storage development / acquisition opportunities. Develop and maintain proprietary energy storage models that allow SSI to aggressively, but accurately, bid on energy storage opportunities and forecast revenues from energy storage systems. Support meetings with SSI customers and development partners to understand energy storage needs, values ascribed to services, and identify gaps in service offerings / opportunities. Develop and maintain pro forma revenue models in conjunction with structured finance to facilitate 3rd party project financing of energy storage systems. Maintain up-to-date view on available market revenues in SSI target markets through internal research, external resources, and when necessary, 3rd party paid market research. Work closely with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure that technical and performance requirements are properly captured when negotiating energy storage services and/or equipment procurement agreements. Manage relationships with energy storage equipment and services vendors. Monitor the energy storage marketplace, supporting the evaluation and qualification of potential new vendors. Maintain up-to-date knowledge base of battery vendors, energy storage system integrators, and storage service providers. Stay up to date with battery trends, costs, and chemistries. Maintain roadmap of energy storage services offered by Standard Solar mapped to required underlying hardware and operational capabilities. Develop and maintain internal educational materials to facilitate SSI employee basic self-education on relevant services, equipment, operating strategies, and revenue streams. Maintain up-to-date tracker matching planned energy storage projects with anticipated equipment and storage operations providers. Work with SSI policy team to identify policy needs and opportunities.
Minimum Education, Skills, and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, economics or rigorous analytical discipline. 4+ years of work experience in energy storage Fundamental understanding of battery system design & operation Exposure to energy storage project development Understanding of common energy storage revenue sources, such as demand charge reduction, demand response, ISO/RTO ancillary market participation, and energy arbitrage Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment Results driven and solutions oriented Strong organization and communication skills; excellent communications in both verbal and written formats Able to collaborate, facilitate, and work with a diverse set of team members Flexibility to tackle emerging work as needed

Physical Demands Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
