Based in Chicago with advisors across the U.S., the firm operates as a registered investment advisor (RIA).Your Future TeamWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Accountant to join our Finance and Real Estate team. The Senior Technical Accountant will be responsible for solving accounting problems, reporting matters, and implementing solutions derived from the work of this niche financial organization. This position is for someone who has a technical accounting and reporting background and who is not looking for the status quo. You will focus on technical accounting and financial reporting to help lead us through identifying, analyzing, and concluding on complex matters as they arrive.What You'll DoHelp develop external financial statements and related footnotes for external reporting.Apply technical accounting for business combinations and equity method investments.Liaison with external auditors and play an important role in our audit readiness.Understand M&A activities and develop a process of tracking, maintaining, and reporting on related deliverables.Develop content for external performance reporting preparation.Document important deal terms for transaction accounting and instructing on downstream impacts.Complete special projects related to finance and facilities, new accounting pronouncement application, technical research, risk response, and policy memo preparation.Analyze financial data and operations to assist with the outputs of peers.What You'll Bring3+ years of experience in the core accounting function(s) of a Company, technical resource, or public accounting.Enhanced knowledge of GAAP, specifically business combinations, consolidations, revenue recognition, lease guidance, and commitments and contingencies.Proven history of working well cross-functionally across all departments.Experience with robust general ledger systems, Oracle preferable, and Workiva.CPA, or pursuing CPA certification.Strong understanding of US GAAP.Strong grasp on Microsoft suite functionality; highly proficient in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).What We OfferCoverage on the first day of employment for medical, dental, and vision insurance.Paid parental leave (16 weeks for primary caregiver and 8 weeks for secondary caregiver).Flexible PTO plan.401k matching plan.HSA employer contributions.Student loan assistance.AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER:
