Arkansas State University-BeebeThe AVCIA reports directly to the Chancellor; serves as a member of the College’s executive leadership team; and leads the areas of Marketing and Public Relations, Development/Gifts, and Special Events/Community Relations. The AVCIA has the primary responsibility for external and internal college communications, marketing, special event planning, community engagement, donor and resource development, and alumni relations.The AVCIA will possess proven experience in and commitment to team-oriented, transparent leadership; active involvement in planning and leading large projects and major events; and the ability to work in a collaborative, professional, and collegial manner with employees and internal and external stakeholders. The AVCIA will demonstrate a commitment to innovation, data usage, technology, and the comprehensive community college mission.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership to and works as a member of the team responsible for external and internal college communications, marketing, special events, community engagement, donor and resource development, and alumni relations.Motivates, provides direct support to, and collaborates with the Advancement team while setting high expectations and professional direction.Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, major and principal donors; local and state elected officials; business and industry partners; volunteers; advocates; community members; and colleagues throughout the college, the ASU System, and the state.Supports the work of the Chancellor and Development Officer in identifying and developing strategies to attract college supporters, major gifts, and other resources.Works with the campus community in developing new ways for resource development including grant opportunities, sponsorships, unique partnerships, etc.Works closely with Director of Marketing and PR to enhance and align communication, marketing, and internal and external informational strategies.Ensures that all Institutional Advancement activities are closely aligned with the college’s goals and priorities.Hires, manages, mentors, coaches, and evaluates direct reports.Executes special projects and assignments as requested by the Chancellor.Collaborates with the Chancellor and executive leadership team members in advancing the mission and priorities of the College.Required Qualifications
Earned bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institutionFive years progressive experience in marketing, public relations, donor development, alumni relations, and/or community relationsExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications
Higher education experience; Working knowledge of Blackbaud Razor’s Edge.Minimum Salary or Salary Range
Salary commensurate with education and experience.Physical Activities
