Job Description:Associate Director of Student Transitions – Undergraduate Student Life

The Office of Student Engagement works to create a student-focused and student-driven campus community that empowers students to take ownership of their student experience, and encourages them to get involved on campus and in the larger Fairfield community. Through cross-campus collaborations, Student Engagement connects students to curricular and co-curricular experiences that encourage personal and professional development, skill and capacity building, problem solving, and valuing differences. In our Jesuit tradition, we focus on the development of the whole person and value and respect the individual contributions each person brings to our community.Purpose:

The Associate Director of Student Transitions oversees the growth and development of the area of Undergraduate Student Life within the Office of Student Engagement. The Undergraduate Student Life area oversees student governance, student organizations, late night and weekend programming, signature campus events, senior year experience, leadership development, civic learning & democratic engagement, Anthology Engage platform, and university event marketing and coordination. This position reports to the Director and supervises two full-time Assistant Directors.Essential Functions:

Oversee the management of Undergraduate Student Life:Co-develop the strategic direction of Undergraduate Student Life (UGSL) within the Office of Student Engagement.Organize and administer campus-wide co-curriculum events, including the forecasting, planning, development, promotion, and evaluation of programs.Assess offerings, programs, and initiatives within the Undergraduate Student Life area.Provide direct supervision to the full-time Assistant Director of Leadership & Student Advocacy.Provide direct supervision of the full-time Assistant Director of Student Organizations and Programming.Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution for large scale, signature University events:Plan and execute major events such as Fall Welcome and Alumni & Family Weekend.Communicate effectively with campus partners and vendors.Serve on a team of advisors to the Fairfield University Student Association (FUSA):Advise the FUSA leadership.Support the training and development of FUSA officers.Plan and implement the Senior Year Experience:Supervise the Senior Year Experience Committee.Manage the Senior Week budget.Collaborate with departments for Commencement Week events.Oversee and manage the Anthology Engage platform:Provide trainings for campus partners.Support campus partners with management and troubleshooting.Coordinate and collaborate with other departments:Develop promotional materials for student engagement.Assess student needs and program effectiveness.Assist the Director in the growth and development of the Office of Student Engagement:Prepare documentation including reports and assessments.Create opportunities for professional development.Qualifications:

Master’s Degree required, 4 to 6 years of Full Time experience in the field. Applicants should have some background or interest in student affairs administration/college student personnel, psychology, education, or related areas. Demonstrated experience and interest in event planning, advising student leaders, developing leadership development initiatives, assessing program development, and supervision or related experiences are required.
