As a trusted, premium lifestyle brand and a go-to source for discovery and inspiration, REVOLVE delivers an engaging customer experience from a vast yet curated offering of over 50,000 products.Main purpose of the Jr. Buyer role:This is a full-time role for a candidate who is driven by the buying and merchandising aspect of the apparel process. This position will work under the guidance of the Buying & Merchandising Manager to create appropriate merchandise mix based on select categories, segments and emerging trends established by upper management. This position will also be responsible for managing their product assortment and understanding analytics.Major Responsibilities:Assist in purchasing and managing a variety of products and brands for the Owned Brands segment with minimal direction.Knowledgeable in women’s contemporary brands, as well as current trends.Responsible for creating and executing proper merchandise assortment that supports planning and merchandising objectives set by Owned Brands team.Understand/study sales history and inventory levels to evaluate what product is needed.Able to balance the workload of multiple brands/segments, including strategic thinking and attention to detail.Oversee all aspects of re-cuts, re-orders, and re-colors.Ability to follow calendar and key deadlines with minimal supervision.Partner with cross-function teams to ensure garment costs are measured and set retail buckets.Manage brand budget and category/SKUs with minimal supervision.Review weekly sales performance to identify opportunities and risks.Responsible for calculating gross margin, sell-through, and turns.Work closely with internal Design, Product Development, and Planning teams to ensure proper product mix.Oversee order placement and tracking to ensure timely receipt of merchandise.Provide guidance to junior members on how to solve discrepancies & troubleshoot issues.Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management.Required Competencies:Strong knowledge in retail setting, fabrications, and garment constructions.Very strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to demonstrate logical thinking and problem-solving skills.Ability to develop strong, synergistic relationships with a multitude of teams and personnel.Strong multitasking, prioritization, and organization skills.Strong work ethic to excel in a fast-paced environment.Ability to understand the “big picture.”Ability to work successfully with any personality type.Strong analytical skills, good judgment, creativity, and enthusiasm.Ability to meet tight deadlines.Strong understanding of industry trends and market awareness.Ability to work in a fast-paced growing environment.Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Business preferred.2+ years experience in a Buying office or fashion industry environment required.2+ years of Women’s Buying experience.Work experience on a buying team is required.Strong knowledge of and ability to apply retail math concepts, including elements of markup, margin planning, open to buy, and inventory productivity measures.Experience with private label buying, development, and merchandising.Proficient in Email and Microsoft applications.
