Director of Electric IT Portfolio Management

responsible for the accounting and financial operations of the US Electric IT organization, reporting to the head of the US Electric IT portfolio.The Portfolio Director is accountable for the comprehensive oversight and management of the product portfolio within the value streams. This pivotal role is dedicated to the application of Lean Portfolio Management principles, ensuring an effectively balanced portfolio that harmonizes with business objectives and optimizes value delivery. Additionally, the Portfolio Director assumes a critical responsibility in the thorough financial management of the portfolio, encompassing budgetary control and forecasting, while concurrently providing authoritative line management supervision for Project Managers and Project Analysts.This is a hybrid position and will require candidates to travel to our corporate hubs (Brooklyn, NY, Waltham, MA, Syracuse, NY) as required. Candidates must be based in or be open to relocating to MA, NY, NJ, NH, CT, RI, ME, VT or PA.Key Accountabilities

Develop and implement a portfolio management strategy that aligns with business objectives and supports the overall IT department goals.Apply Lean Portfolio Management principles to prioritize and optimize the portfolio of products within the value streams.Ensure a well-balanced portfolio that considers factors such as strategic alignment, risk, resource allocation, and value delivery.Regularly review and assess the portfolio performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and making adjustments as needed.Manage the financial aspects of the portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of financial performance.Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and adherence to financial policies and guidelines.Conduct financial analysis to assess the financial health of the portfolio and make informed decisions regarding resource allocation and investment priorities.Line Management:Provide line management oversight for Project Managers and Project Analysts within the portfolio.Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional development.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team, ensuring effective communication and coordination.Qualifications

A degree directly related to or transferable to portfolio management; advanced degree preferred.10+ years’ experience in portfolio management, ideally within the IT industry or utility sector.5+ years’ experience of developing, implementing and utilizing Lean Portfolio Management principles and practices.5+ years’ proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.Experience in leading and managing organizational change, with the ability to drive adoption of new processes and practices.Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.Exceptional decision-making skills, utilizing a combination of data-driven insights, business acumen, and strategic thinking.Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify and address complex issues and challenges in a proactive and innovative manner.Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, business needs, and industry dynamics.Exemplary professional conduct, ethics, and integrity in all interactions and decision-making.Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.More Information
