Key Functions:Lead the development proforma.Manage loan compliance and aspects of the lender relationship.Lead the company’s financing needs in conjunction with the CFO, putting together marketing materials, gathering information and responding to inquiries during the marketing phase.Oversee insurance with the assistance of Senior Analyst.Oversee tax compliance and other workflow with the assistance of Tax Manager.Lead and contribute to various internal/external modeling projects.Provide strong support in monitoring the IT department’s spending.Position Summary:Under general supervision of the CFO, the Director of Finance is involved in many functions ranging from development, refinancing, acquisitions, as well as asset management.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Working together with the company's senior leadership team, the Director of Finance will play a strategic and proactive role in future development projects of the company as well as developing near term and longer-range strategies aimed at optimizing the company’s financial performance.Examples of Work Performance:Note: The listed duties are only illustrative and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed by this job class. The omission of specific statements does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed if such duties are necessary to the overall mission of the companies.Leading the financial analysis of development projects including the development of budgets, operating proforma, capital structure, and prospective returns. Analyze cash flows and investment returns, valuations, debt underwriting, market conditions, feasibility, etc.Preparing offering memorandums in connection with a new development project or refinancing activities.Evaluating prospective investment opportunities, interacting with third-party service providers, and completing market analysis.Develop and maintain long-range forecasts and models via Excel, Argus, MRI and other software tools.Leading the preparation, compilation and processing of documents needed for financing transactions (SNDA's, estoppels, lease abstracts, etc.)Supporting the CFO and the finance team with on-going asset management including, but not limited to, insurance management, cash flow projection, and shareholder issues.Overseeing various tax workflows and issues of the company including, but not limited to, tax compliance, property tax appeals, internal tax analysis, and tax appeals.Lead and contribute to various modeling projects, including conducting qualitative and quantitative research to test hypothesis or sensitivity to various risks and opportunities, including preparing ad hoc Excel/Argus modeling upon request of both internal teams and external parties.Provide lateral support to Controller, Operation Leads, Development, while reporting directly to the CFO. Work together with the Director of Financial Planning and the Controller in certain overlapping areas and on special projects including, but not limited to cash flow planning, special financial reports, long-range forecasts, tax planning matters, and prospective debt covenant review.Assist in the development of customized KPI reports, dashboards, and other performance measurement decision support tools to be distributed and/or accessed via local network, intranet, extranet or mobile devices.Assist in the review and improvement of finance and accounting related processes and workflows to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department in its service to the Company.Minimum Qualifications for Application:5+ years’ experience in finance, real estate, or accounting with preferably 3+ years of experience in investment banking, real estate private equity, or real estate finance.Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business. Master’s degree or graduate certificate in real estate or a related field preferred but not required.Demonstrated strong computer skills; a "power-user". Must be extremely adept with Excel with a proven ability to model complicated concepts into a reporting tool with toggles, strong in PowerPoint.Must be an approachable and influential individual who gains trust and confidence quickly through consensus building and can operate effectively in a dynamic and changing organization.Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, a strong work ethic and positive team-oriented attitude. Must be a hands-on type of individual who is not afraid to roll-up his/her sleeves. Must be coachable.Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities while still meeting deadlines.Professional, presentable, and confident; strong written and oral communication skills a must.Candidates that send a cover letter are the only ones considered for this position.
