Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting a music director and rehearsal and performance pianist for the 8th grade’s musical, Annie, Jr. Student auditions take place November 6th, 7th, and 8th. Rehearsals run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons from 3:40 p.m. - 5:40 p.m. from mid-November through early February. Extended rehearsals begin the week of February 3rd, and the show performs February 12th, 13th, and 14th.
Responsibilities
Play piano reduction of score for auditions, rehearsals, and performances.
Teach music material to students, and provide additional vocal coaching as necessary.
Assist in rehearsals by playing the score, playing vocal parts, identifying and correcting mistakes as needed.
Lead vocal warm-ups and music rehearsals or coaching.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Ability to attend all agreed upon rehearsals and performances (transportation not provided).
Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
Satisfactory completion of three criminal background checks.
