What the role entails:TKD is seeking a Marketing Communications Manager to join our Marketing Team. Under the direction of our Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer (CMBDO), our Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing all internal and external communications for the firm. This individual will oversee the development, drafting, and execution of the firm’s communications, managing collateral creation, digital media, and client-facing communications.

Essential responsibilities include:Drafting, editing, and coordinating a wide range of communications and providing input on types of content, tone/voice, and delivery vehicles/outlets.Serve as a central resource to draft and edit, collateral, ads, press releases, biographies, award entries, and coordinate survey submissions, among other critical communications projects.Develop firm collateral in the form of practice descriptions, case studies, brochures, and attorney and alumni profiles.Implement a collateral library leveraging existing firm technology and ensure that the marketing team is aware of available materials and that newly developed materials are added in real time, especially as it relates to pitches and proposals.Manage the client alert process, including substantive review and proofreading.Liaise with attorneys during draft and review process and collaborate with Marketing Team before distribution.Responsible for the firm’s social media accounts and management of related vendors, including:

Creating and overseeing our content calendar, generate campaigns, and measure efficacy to establish which activities garner the highest ROI.Develop content for the firm’s digital program, including the firm’s website and social media program, with a specific focus on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram, among other social media channels.Provide reports on social media statistics to inform strategy.In conjunction with the CMBDO, train attorneys on leveraging digital media for marketing and business development.

Develop and implement firm public relations and marketing campaigns.In collaboration with the CMBDO and others in the marketing department, draft and post the firm’s website content.Promote and support firm and sponsored events, webinars, and speaking engagements by drafting or editing web posts, invitations, speaking proposals, and program content, including bios, firm descriptions, and ads.Collaborate with the Marketing team and Practice areas to conceptualize, script, and “publish” podcasts and other media projects for client-facing use.Ensure editorial guidelines and branding and style consistency throughout marketing collateral, both in print and online. Take the lead on educating the marketing team on communications initiatives, guidelines, standards, and policies.Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the communications function, including website management and editorial calendars.Measure and provide reports on performance of content and communications.Surveys & Awards Submissions

Create and monitor the calendar for awards and rankings.Ensure adequate lead time for attorney involvement and collaboration with the Marketing team.Manage service providers, including PR firms, crafting submission strategy, prioritizing key rankings, and keeping to deadline schedules.Edit submissions completed by vendors and write nominations for specific submissions.Ensure new deliverables are presented on time.Internal Communications

Draft blurbs, synopses, Q&As, announcements, invitations, and other material for internal audiences as needed.Collaborate with other departments on special projects as required.Qualifications and skills:

BA in journalism or a writing-intensive discipline such as history or English.7-10 Years’ experience in a communications role.4-5 Years’ experience in the legal industry.Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to produce concise, clean copy on deadline.An adept editor and agile writer who can craft copy in various voices and styles tailored to a range of outlets and audiences.Tech-savvy professional with expertise in social media, content management systems (WordPress preferred), and SEO best practices in content development.A critical thinker with a solution-orientated, proactive attitude and a sense of ownership of one’s work.The ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with the maturity and professionalism to handle confidential information, interact with individuals at all levels within our organization as well as external vendors while exercising superb judgment in sensitive situations.Strong project management and organizational skills.Skills that would be a plus:

Podcasting experience.Familiarity with AI in content production.Video storyboarding and creation, particularly for social media.

TKD is currently maintaining a hybrid schedule structured as Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in-office with the option to be remote Mondays and Fridays.
