Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour.

The Work Management Office (WMO) supports job planning, scheduling and reporting for internal resource crews at the Board of Water and Light. This department acts as a hub for the coordination and facilitation of maintenance activities for the BWL. Working in this department interns will have exposure and the opportunity to interact with multiple departments, industry stakeholders and resource teams, giving wide exposure in regard to work coordination within the industry and then data and information flowing throughout the company.

Position Summary:

The Work Management (WM) Intern will work on technology enhancement projects using various analytical tools such as Power BI and SQL Server Management Studio. Efforts will be focused on enhancements of current systems as well as data stewardship efforts, including automated data quality reports. The Intern will support efforts on the Work Management KPI Dashboard project, enhance reporting out of SharePoint and support Mobile Application Deployments. The WM Intern will learn from, and be supervised by, a mentor of the Work Management Department.

Essential Functions:

Development activities and maintenance of SharePoint site for departmentCreation of data paths utilizing SharePoint and other relevant Office 365 toolsWorking with a number of internal operations and business groups to collect, analyze, and present operations dataDeveloping and editing work procedures and training guidesDeveloping draft presentations, charts, articles, and other documentsCreation of reports to present wide variety of information for various stakeholdersProvide application support for crew members utilizing data collection applicationsRequired to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear personal protective equipment for all field work.Attends training and safety awareness and/or skills improvement as required by the BWL or government agency such as MIOSHA.Expected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.Predictable and reliable attendance.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Job Specifications:

Currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution with a focus of Engineering with a junior or senior status during the summer of 2025.Minimum GPA of 3.0.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the working day. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office environment, including the use of stairs. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment. Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen. Must frequently communicate with other departments and employees both verbally and in writing. May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or reach overhead. The person in this position needs to move about in industrial environments and on uneven terrain occasionally. May be required to recognize small numbers, letters, symbols, color on prints, and operate field instruments/equipment.

Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional work in outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments.
