Registered Nurse - OR12 Hour Variable

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Job Specialty: Surgical Services Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Variable Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum 2 years of Operating Room Level 1 or 2 trauma experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Surgical experience in a tertiary care center- Skills in Ortho-Trauma (ORIF, Ex fix, Amputations), Neuro (Craniotomy, Spinal), General Surgery, Robotics (Da Vinci XI)- Pre-Op/PACU skills, including ICU skillset in PACU Job Description: - Work in a 12-bed operating room environment, handling various surgical services.- Manage 20 Pre-Op bays and 14 PACU bays with experience in ICU level care.- Handle patient types including Surgical (Urology, Neuro, Ortho, Robotic, General, Podiatry, ENT) and Pre/Post Recovery (Phase I and Phase II).- Maintain patient ratios of OR 1:1, Pre-Op 1:2, PACU Phase I - 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity, PACU Phase II - 1:2-3.- Collaborate and support alongside a team of surgery RNs, First Assistants, Surgical Technicians, Nurse Clinicians, and Anesthesia.- Utilize charting systems such as EPIC and manage equipment like Omnicell and Alaris.- Flexibility to float as needed, providing assistance in PreOp/PACU/Floor outside peri-op services.- Participate in weekend rotations and on-call duties, with a requirement of ideally one overnight per week and every third weekend.- Adhere to holiday expectations, being available for 2 out of 4 major holidays.- Engage in a 1-week orientation program to integrate into the facility and unit smoothly.- Maintain professionalism and quality care standards at all times.
