Job Summary

As part of the IT group reporting to the IT Manager, you will provide day-to-day end-user support, data management, and network management. The IT Service Desk Technician will be responsible for maintaining the current IT landscape and suggesting & executing system modifications and upgrades to improve business functionality and security.

As part of a small IT team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and expand your skill set, while seeing your work have a direct impact on AMT Group’s success.

JOB TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform IT requests from various departments per your manager.Help develop employee IT training and instructional materials.Assist users on systems and software.Take ownership of tickets by responding to, managing, and prioritizing customer support request tickets.Maintain door access badges and monitoring system.Escalate high priority issues reported to your manager.Computer hardware/software troubleshooting and support skills.Perform password resets.Assist IT team to escalate & resolve high severity incidents.Help to maintain physical and virtual Windows servers.Assist in maintaining core server-based software, including Sage 100.Help manage routine backup/storage of all digital data.General maintenance/organization of server room.Help keep an inventory schedule of all hardware and software.Make updates to RingCentral phone system.Help implement new IT initiatives as required by your manager.Implement new and better ways of managing hardware, software, data and infrastructure.Administrate email accounts and MS Outlook installations.Maintain/install several server-based licenses for software such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.Help rehearse disaster recovery plans.Stays current with IT changes.Minimum Qualifications

Basic understanding of LAN (IP/Subnet, DNS, VLAN)Able to lift 30 lbs. occasionallyExperience with email and the basics of transmission of messagesExperience using MS Office Suite applicationsExperience setting up a new PC and printer.Experience with multiple web browsers.Proficient in the use of technology, especially computers.IT background knowledge - Basic knowledge of computers, security, and IT processesUnderstands the makeup of a computer; able to read specifications of a CPU, Motherboard, RAM, Hard Drive, monitor, etc.Skilled at navigating your way through Windows operating systemsSkilled in Microsoft Office SuiteSkilled in Microsoft Operating Systems.Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Linux Operating Systems.Experience providing a high level of customer service.Experience documenting issues & requests.Basic computer hardware/software troubleshooting and support skills.Ability to prioritize outstanding issues and manage user expectationUser Account Administration – Microsoft Active DirectoryExperience with Ticketing system’sAccountabilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proper phone/email etiquette.Must be able to work well with others.Ability to prioritize outstanding issues and manage user expectation.Willingness to learn and be mentored.

Terms of employment

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Hours

The general hours shall be 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with an hour break for lunch.

Work Environment

Work is regularly performed in office and warehouse environments.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 80 pounds.

Travel

Minimal travel may be required.
