Project Controls Cost Analyst
for a long-term assignment that promises to challenge and inspire you!
In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of major capital projects up to $50 mm, playing a crucial part in controlling costs, schedules, and scopes to ensure project success. Your analytical prowess will help mitigate risks and drive efficiencies, making you an integral member of our project team.
Candidates note: You must live within driving distance of Lake Charles, LA to be considered for this position.
What You'll Do:
- Dive deep into the financials by reconciling and auditing invoices against services received and contractor cost reports, ensuring accuracy in billing rates and terms.
- Input and track actual costs in project reports, preparing for insightful reviews and accurate forecasting of final costs.
- Keep individual project cost reports updated with the latest actual costs, providing transparency and clarity.
- Monitor contractor project control systems, including cost reports and productivity analyses, to ensure alignment with approved project funding.
- Validate contractor cost reports to guarantee they are accurately reflected in the overall project budget.
- Collaborate with Project and Client Accountants to streamline financial processes.
- Harness your analytical skills to dissect data that impacts costs and efficiencies, including labor, materials, and subcontract requirements.
- Create cash flows and spend plans that help steer project financials effectively.
- Engage with all project team members, fostering collaboration and communication.
- Assist in generating routine and special reports, adhering to established guidelines and deadlines.
- Support cost engineers in compiling data for accurate cost and manpower forecasts.
- Analyze installed versus estimated quantities, preparing insightful comparison reports and visuals.
- Handle administrative tasks that reinforce practical applications of cost management methods.
- Embrace additional job-related responsibilities as they arise.
What You Bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with 5 years of project controls experience in a refinery or petrochemical environment, or 10 years in a related role in lieu of a degree.
- Extensive knowledge of cost estimating and analysis, with a strong foundation in project support.
- Experience in the refining or petrochemical industries, specifically in controls, planning, scheduling, and estimating, is highly preferred.
- Advanced mathematical and analytical skills that enable you to tackle complex data.
